I’m pretty sure this is a unicorn but figured I’d ask ...

Our youngest will be 3 in August and (I think) weighs 30-some pounds. She still wants to be carried a lot and isn’t always content to sit in the stroller. But we live in Texas and it’s summer so I can’t handle a carrier where she’s plastered right on me in a back or front carry. We tried a cheaper hiking backpack carrier but it was too heavy to be doable very long and also she didn’t like it - I think it was a bit small for her.

Are expensive hiking carriers worth it or still too heavy with a kid this age? Would it be helpful to get one of those hip pads where it takes some of the weight but they’re not strapped in? Other ideas?? Thank you!
