Mr. Bee and I finally got new iphones! I was using the old 3 version, and Mr's Bee's screen had been cracked for months.
Now we need to get cases! Do you have a case that you love?

I have the casemate tough case. It isn't the prettiest, but I drop my phone a lot, especially since I usually have a baby in the other arm!

While I don't have a recommendation, I do have some advice for buying an iPhone case. Make sure that the description indicates if it is made for Verizon/Sprint or for AT&T. There are slight differences in casing between the phones, and the case can affect the usability.
http://www.macworld.com/article/157080/2011/01/verizon_iphone_case_difference.html (old article about the iPhone 4 but the casing is the same for the 4s)
My SIL bought so many cases for her 4s to find that most of the ones she purchased were made for the AT&T iPhone 4 and not Verizon.

@yin: ah that's a great tip! we used to have at&t but just switched to verizon!

This is my iPhone 4S case: http://www.redbubble.com/people/jordandesigning/works/7880211-tardis-in-your-pocket?p=iphone-case My iPhone is an AT&T one btw. I don't know if that matters or not.

I have this one and I love it. It has a hard shell on the outside, but rubber padding on the inside to cushion the phone if you drop it (which I do... all the time).

And I have Verizon so it should work for you.

I have an OtterBox. It has rubber padding and a hard shell. I tend to drop phones so I needed something that would protect it. It looks like this one isn't compatible with the 4s though.

I don't know if you're looking for something cute vs. functional, but I love my Kate Spade case. I've dropped my phone about ten billion times since getting it for Christmas and it seems to hold up just fine.

i'm the same as @twodoghouse for cute vs functional...i have the marc jacobs one for iphone 4 and really like it....but i don't think it's the most protective one out there for dropping and such

Otterbox!! I drop my phone on a daily basis & it will never break with my otter on it! I had my old iPhone for 2.5 years before switching to the iPhone 4S & it still worked great

I am currently using this and I like it more than the Incase I bought at the same time.. It isn't heavy duty but works for me. The price is not a joke either..,

book book! best cover ever!

DH has this and it is amazing. Nice that you can charge phone and plug in jacks with out taking out of case. Looks cool. Super protective. Add wallet stuff only if you want to.
Only downfall: there is no hole for the camera. DH took it to work and drilled a perfect hole for the camera.

i recommend belkin or speck. a lot of the cases out there don't have a big enough space for the flash and thus cause washed out photos with flash. i try not to use the flash often, but when i did with my earlier flash, it was total junk and i had to take the case off to fix the issue.

@Mrs. Bee: Yay for switching to Verizon! How do you like it?
I don't know what my case is called, but it's black, has a basket weave pattern in the back, and some sort of kickstand (for lack of a better word) so it can stand on a tabletop. I got it at a Verizon store. I haven't looked at others to compare, but I like it.

I got the casemate for my Android phone and it's fantastic. I would suggest it if you are prone to dropping your phone.

@birdofafeather: Oh my gosh - thank you for posting about this! My phone's new and I wasn't really thrilled with the pictures it was taking with the flash on. It turns out taking the case off makes a HUGE difference! BTW, the case looks like it has plenty of room for the flash just by looking at it from the outside - but seeing the pictures with the case on and off the problem is totally evident.

@twodoghouse: happy to help! most people have no clue. i'm a photog and it bugged me from the first second i took a photo! been on the hunt for a new one ever since and my new case comes today!

I don't know what mine is called, but it has a faceplate and a backing that snap together around the phone. I wanted to get an Otterbox, but I read reviews that some of the models block the "proximity sensor" on the 4S so that you can drop calls by having your cheek touch the "End Call" button.

I'm a self-proclaimed iPhone/gadget geek. Otter box is the way to go if you need protection. They can be pricy but you can drop your phone off a balcony and it'll be fine. Your phone will be bulky though. I personally prefer hard cases to rubber skins but both should be functionally. Amazon has lots of high quality cases.

We have Iphone 4 not the 4S.
I really like my Speck PixelSkin HD case. https://www.speckproducts.com/collections/pixelskin
I also put a screen protector on my iphone that goes on the front and the back. I think I bought a 10 pack of them on ebay.
I don't have any complaints. There's enough room around the ports to get my ear plugs and charger in and out.
It's rubbery so I feel it cushions and protects my phone when I drop it.
My husband has a Speck candyshell case and he hates it. There isn't a lot of room around the ports so the earplug falls out. I need to find a Speak Pixelskin HD in white for my husband. I looked a couple months ago and they didn't have it. I should look now.
