When will I know I can no longer just dump a poo diaper in the wash?? Will it be obvious?? We just had our first bite of avocado this afternoon... so I'm not sure when to move all our stuff into the bathroom for changes!

I started using liners when her poops were solid logs. The poop will start smelling really bad and it will be obvious!

We used liners and dumped the stuff in the toilet, gave it a rinse with the sprayer and then threw it in the wash.

Hope it's ok to piggy back off your question, @scg00387, but I've been wondering how the logistics work of rinsing/dumping the diapers. I guess you leave the diaper out, put the new on on LO, deposit them somewhere safe like the crib and then deal with the dirty diaper??

@autumnlove: @Mrs. Jacks: ok, that is what I'd thinking that I'd just "know" when it wasn't water soluble any more... I have liners at the ready!
@aprk: of course! I can only tell you what I'm planning for us, which is to just change in the bathroom. My little busy body would be all over the place otherwise; that way I can clean him up and dump the dipe in the wet bag while he's safe on the floor.

@scg00387: smart idea! I guess by the time we get to solids we won't be exclusively using the changing table any way

You'll know. Oh yes, you will. I am very firmly in the cloth diapering camp, but solids poop seriously bums me out. If someone gave me a lifetime supply of free diapers, I might consider using them.

@aprk: Yeah... we stopped using that a long time ago I have our changing pad up on the spare room's bed with everything all spread out. He rolls the second I take my hand off him so I needed more space to feel safe!

@scg00387: we're only 7.5 weeks so its still working pretty well. We're headed to the floor soon I bet!

Oh, you'll know :). I didn't move everything to the bathroom. They're pretty solid, so it's not like I'm sloshing poop all over the place when I go dump it.

We just dumped the solid stuff and tossed the rest in the wash without spraying. The sprayer made more of a mess for me! DS was still mostly BF'd so anything that wasn't solid enough to dump out just washed out like before. If you want to use liners I found the Apple Cheek ones to be my favorite! We mostly used them when we had to use creams, but they are slightly wider than the other brands so provided better coverage without bunching.
