@sslm, @grace: do you guys think there is a chance that FF is wrong and I O'd on Monday? I'm confused because I got my first positive on Sunday and I had eggwhites CM plus I thought it was weird that my temp had been rising already on Wednesday.
Thoughts?
My Ovulation Chart
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@alison206: it's possible, but it'd be very odd to have a + opk after ovulation!! It is hard to say though. Just a huge waiting game either way.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@alison206: I agree with sslm. My understanding is that your OPK very quickly goes negative after you O. The pattern you've are seeing is called a "slow rise", which I have all the time. FF usually puts my O date on the day before the peak, just like you. I'd rather it erred on the side of a later O date. It's terrible to be officially late and going crazy wondering why the pregnancy tests are negative.

Sore boobs might be back! That could be a good sign. Trying so hard to not get my hopes up, but it's so hard. I think being pessimistic is a defence mechanism for sure.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@sslm: Haha! I'm glad they are back. I think I also use pessimism as a defence mechanism. It's so much easier to be pessimistic, than dissapointed.

@sslm: my boobs/nipples were sore off and on during my TWW!!

@JoJoGirl: I wrote this on WB when I was formally diagnosed... Just copied it over. Thank God for the bees or I never would have put to together!!!
hereit is:
For those that asked what symptoms I have, it was a combination of observations about myself. You all are about to get real down and dirty with my body to beware...TMI. Haha. When I was a kid, I had severe menstrual cramps, like, pain beyond belief. I went to the GYN and found I had a cervix problem and ovarian cysts (symptom #1&2). I had a procedure to fix my anatomical abnormality, then was placed on birth control at like age 11. I was not sexually active, it was a treatment for the cysts.
Since I had been on hormonal birth control throughout puberty and my entire adult life, I had no idea my periods were irregular (symptom #3). They aren't bad, but my O dates have fluctuated from 13-20 and cycles from 27-38 days. So now that I am TTC and keeping track, it was brought to my attention. They also vary from light to obscenely heavy, like this last one was the heaviest I had ever had. (symptom#4).
Here's where I get down and dirty. I have....um...hair issues. I have very thin hair and am losing it, have even posted a thread about it (symptom #5). I also have hair...um...on my body in places I shouldn't? (symptom#6) I have it on my nips and it is very thick and dark on my belly - have always shaved. (symptom#7) I always figured it was because I started shaving it in fourth grade. So embarrassing. But hey, whatever.
I also have pretty bad acne, which is well managed with an intense cleaning regimen. I spend a lot of money on nice acne products. (symptom #8)
My last symptom is my insulin resistance. I had always attributed this to eating unhealthy, but even with diet and exercise, my blood sugar came down, but it is higher than it should be especially for not being overweight (I was pre-diabetic, which would be type II diabetes which is associated with obesity, and my BMI is 23!!! I just didn't get it). I can physically feel my blood sugar spiking if I drink a sugary drink or eat a piece of cake or something. That was the main reason I wanted Metformin in the first place. (symptom #9).
So, in talking with you ladies and reading about it, plus seeing some patients with it, I figured what the hey. I'll bring it up. And I'm glad I did! Thank you, bee!!!!!!!!!!

Oh and yay for CD1 here!!!!! Just happy my cycle shortened by 2 days:)
^-also, my last symptom is that to be 100% honest, I'm not sure I'm ovulating. My CM, OPK and temps do NOT match up, though they are generally lower in the beginning and higher at the end... I think I may be going "through the motions" as in I'm having a change in my hormones, but my charts have been so unclear..... My estradiol was really low, which could indicate that my follicles aren't maturing enough... Either to be released or to be viable. Hopefully met, diet and exercise fix it and I won't have to see the Gyno

@alison206: I think you could have O'ed on Sunday or Monday! Try looking of FF for what it says about numerous positive opk's... I think that may be throwing it off?
apricot / 368 posts
@Grace: how's you're chart? I'm not on my computer so I can't look up the bookmark!!!!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@dharmainitiative: sorry about CD1. Even though it's somewhat good, it still sucks!!! I hope you can get things sorted out. I thought the temp shift was a definite sign of ovulation though? Also, arent annovulatory cycles typically really long?
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
Temp up a little this morning. Last cycle I started spotting 10dpo so let's all cross our fingers that doesn't happen!!!!
grapefruit / 4703 posts
Temp is still up but I'm spotting a little, so I think I'm going to be out tomorrow. Gah, back to a short LP.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@sslm: your chart looks like a classic preggo chart! I'm rooting for you!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Rachel: oh man, that sucks, I'm sorry I can't remember, have you seen someone about your short LP? Have you tried any natural ways of lengthening it?
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@sslm: I had a gyn appt on Monday and I asked about it - she said to wait until we've been trying 6 months before testing anything. I've tried B6 (no change) and progesterone cream, which increased my LP by 2 days last month, but apparently didn't help this month.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Rachel: that's really frustrating!!! I wish I had some other suggestions for you but I'm pretty new to all of this.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@dharmainitiative: Wow, thanks for posting that - I'm glad you are going to get some answers!!
@sslm: Your chart looks GREAT!!!! Did you test today?
@Rachel: Bummer about the LP. Ugh.
In other news, I had a hilarious dream last night about getting a BFP (after a very stressful evening followed by a BD since I think I'm going to O in the next day or 2, based on my temp drop). I'm not reading anything into it because it was clearly just on my mind all night, but I woke up REALLY disoriented
grapefruit / 4079 posts
@dharmainitiative: I really hope you get some of the answers you need and that a BFP is in your near future!
@jojogirl: I've been having pregnancy dreams and my bf had one about me having twins. Like you, I'm trying not to read into them but it's sooo hard not to!
@rachel: It must be so annoying and upsetting to not get answers because it hasn't been 6 months. Maybe you should try a holistic dr?
@sslm: Fingers crossed!!!!! I *think* (not good at reading charts) that your chart looks great!
As for me, I am waiting and trying not to go crazy. Some moments I am so sure I'm not preggo and some moments I am 100% sure I am. Only Aug 1 will tell and even FF says thats too soon. I did have a huge temp jump today (not sure if that means anything).
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@alison206: Still. High temps are fun.
@JoJoGirl: Oh, I have been having weird- ass dreams lately. Yesterday was about a gang war at my neighbour's house and we had to escape to the family farm, but my car was buried in 6 ft of snow. Just my car. No snow anywhere else.
@Rachel: Maybe it'll stop because it's implantion spotting?
@dharmainitiative: I thought it there was a temp spike, that you has to be ovulating? And you can have the most fertile mucus a few days before O. I don't think that's weird. How far before O is your pos OPK?
@sslm: You have a nice chart, lady!
I slept in this morning. I'm on vacation on the east coast and our luggage only showed up this morning, so no new temp (thermometer was in my lugguge). But I'm only 6dpo, so no biggie. Just trucking along.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@JoJoGirl: I didn't test today, I'm out of tests! I have one digital but won't use that until I see 2 lines on a cheapie.
I'll be testing again on Saturday, 12 dpo. Hopefully something shows up. No spotting today so that's good news, either way
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@sslm: Eeee! I'm going to be offline from this afternoon through most of the weekend, but I'll try to pop in and see what happens with both you and @savannarunner!!
apricot / 368 posts
@sslm & @Grace: I think you can have anovulatory short/long/irregular cycles, and I have irregular cycles. Temping is a VERY good way to find if you are ovulating, but from what I understand in talking with some girls on WB that are in and out of RE's, the only 100% way to know for sure you are ovulating is with 7DPO blood work. There was a girl on there that was menstruating somewhat regularly like me and her 7DPO bloodwork showed that she indeed was not ovulating. Also, my thermal shifts can almost never be pinpointed because of somewhat erratic temperatures. That's why I think I may not be ovulating. I may be crazy and it truly may be my shitty thermometer that really seems to only know four temperatures (bought a new one from early-pregnancy-tests.com, it better be good!!).
@sslm: FIngers crossed you don't spot today!!!!!!!!!!!
@Rachel: B6 is helpful, but have you tried a full B complex? The other B vitamins increase absorption, so maybe that will help? @JoJoGirl: I hope your dream comes true!!!!! =)
@alison206: Triphasic maybe???? Only time will tell.
@Grace: To be honest, I never really truly got a positive OPK last cycle, but the questionable one was on CD16. I will try OPK's again this cycle and see what happens.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@dharmainitiative: That makes sense, the erratic temps are definitely a sign.
Ugh. You guys. Excuse the language, but fuck. Two girls from my past announced they're expecting in December. My October baby should have been first

@sslm: Oh wow, I'm so so sorry! I can't really imagine what the feels like, but I know it doesn't feel good. *hug* Your time will come, hopefully soon!

@sslm: =( I'm so sorry =(
I feel you, I have three of my close friends delivering and one cousin delivering within a few days of what my due date would have been. It's so... ugh.

And in a strange twist, my mom is seriously the least supportive person in my life. She doesn't understand how these things make me sad, and how it's hard to swallow. She just thinks I should get over it and be happy for people. I am so mad at her right now. I CANNOT believe that my MIL is more supportive than my own mother.

@Adira: Thanks. I was having such a good week until now, I guess I will keep that therapist appointment next week...
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@dharmainitiative: Nope. Basically got pregnant both times the second they decided to try. I know that's why she's acting this way, but UGH.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
Oh by the way guys, I tested when I got home and it was a definite negative. I bought 5 tests at the dollar store, so I am probably going to test every day for the next 5 days, unless AF shows.
pomelo / 5073 posts
@sslm: i am so sorry! My mom doesn't get that I stress about timing issues with BDing and things like that. Whenever I talk about it, she is like you need to chill, don't worry about things like that.
It's so frustrating when people don't 'get it' or at least don't just listen when you want to vent.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Jennimac: Nice to see you here friend! Haven't heard from you in a while, was wondering if you were ok :). I am not glad that your mom is similar, but in a way I am glad that I am not alone!!!
@Smurfette: Thanks

@sslm: I've been quiet this month. : ) She completely understands the loss and everything since she lost my brother after he was born, so I know she 'gets' part of it. I guess now she kind of wants me to move on and I also think that whenever I talk about what hurts me, it hurts her since she feels my pain too.
Did you get my last email? I sent it like a week ago? If not, I'll email you again!
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
@Jennimac: Ok. I totally wrote a response to your last email! But apparently it disappeared because it's not showing that I responded... I wonder if I dreamt it? LOL. Well I am definitely going to respond tomorrow on my day off
