We have not taken a family vacation in about 2 years and I'm really getting stir crazy!
I am looking for a place in the South East US that my husband and I could preferable drive to and have a cheap vacation with little one (who is 14 months). I know we can afford the travel and lodging, but just not sure about all the daily activities that cost money! Looking for a 2-4 day trip even!
Any suggestions? Name the place, why its great, and cheap/free things for families to do!

@Alivoo01: Unfortunately we are from FL so we do a lot of trips to the beach. That would be a great idea though since we can spend hours at the beach and its free!

What about camping? We're doing Disney camping this weekend! It's an annual trip for us and we love it! Food is inexpensive because you cook it all there, they have fun pools and splash area, chip and Dale sing along and campfire. It's so much fun!

@Thehistoryofus: i've never been to charleston, but have heard there are some great bike trails and places to walk.
we were only in savannah for the day, but there were also some great parks to walk around?
