It's my first day back at work after maternity leave and I was heartbroken to leave my 6 week old son this morning. Anyone want to cheer me up this morning?

Good luck momma!! You can do it. What do you do for work? Is LO at home or at a center?

Aww I hope today is a busy work day then to keep you occupied! I hope you enjoy your conversations w/ coworkers today, and get back into the groove of a working woman again! I'm sure your LO is happy & oblivious You can do it!

I'm so so so sorry honey. That is so young and you must feel so distraught. Try of you can to enjoy the little advantages to being away from LO. Enjoy a nice walk on your lunch break or a yummy special treat. Maybe some retail therapy. Find ways to make the best of a hard time and know that your sweet baby will be so happy to see you when you get home. Hugs!

@DillonLion: I work at a local college. LO is with DH this week and with MIL next week. We start daycare at my college's center on April 2. The only thing that makes it better is that he will be close by and I can go see him on lunch breaks.

@snowjewelz: @MrsMccarthy: Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! I did get myself some Starbucks this morning as a treat and I'm treating myself to lunch today too. It's tough because I work in an office/department by myself so no distractions from being sad.

Oh man, I was still a hot mess at 6 weeks so I can't even imagine how you must be coping! I'm sending you lots of hugs! At least you've already been through the worst part, leaving him for the first time to go to work! It's only going to get better from here. And you are lucky that he'll be so close by for visits and middle of the day snuggles
I will say though, that I cried leading up to going back to work and definitely a lot the first day so you are not alone in how you feel! It did get better though and I really do enjoy going to work every day, I think it makes me a much better mom, lol. Good luck, friend!

@MrsKoala: I always find a little music to be helpful. Here's a little Barry White and Pharrell Williams with some perky tunes:

@petunia354: Thank you! I'm still a hot mess, too! It's been really tough to go back so soon. I always knew that I would be a WOHM so you are right in that it will make me a better mom in the long run. He just seems so young to be without me and I'm not ready to be without him!
@MsLipGloss: Thank you! Those are the perfect songs!

@MrsKoala: When Ellie was in daycare it was SO wonderful to see her on my lunch break and get to nurse her. And the best daycares I have ever, ever encountered have been at Universities. Usually they are play-based, really creative, and such nurturing places. The first week is hard, but it does get easier.

@Mrs. Twine: Our daycare is all of those things so I appreciate the reminder that it will be a good place for LO to be. It does make me feel better to know that he will be well taken care of and I will see him at least once a day!

@Ash: Returning from leave sucks... I so wish that the US had the system that Canada does in terms of leave. I want to work but I think it's torture that women in the US have to return so soon. There should be a better system.

@MrsKoala: I'm sorry, N is SIX WEEKS OLD already??? How on earth did THAT happen??
I hope that today flies by for you, and that you are super busy and have lots to distract you. And that when you come home, you are greeted with the best baby snuggles in the world!

Can't believe it's already time for you to go back.
I go back in a month when DS will be 8 weeks old. They just seem to young to be without mama.

@Mrs. High Heels: @Mrsbells: Thank you!
@LovelyPlum: Oh this is worst part! The agonizing waiting and wondering when labor will happen! I hope meeting Baby Plum is only at the most 3 weeks away.
@Danizaur: They do seem too young. It makes me so sad.
