i dermaplane my whole face

I started getting black chin hairs around 20? It started as just two always in the exact same spots. Now it is up to 15 but they typically come up in predictable ways. I have just always plucked them. It hasn’t changed the texture, though they were thick and coarse to start, so who knows. Mine aren’t clustered so it would be hard to do anything to them as a group, it is easier to deal with them individually

I also deal with upper lip and lower lip hair. I bleach or thread that. I prefer threading but I was having to go to often and it was just too expensive, so I typically bleach them now.

@catgirl: same on the random plucking. Mine have gotten worse for sure, not sure if it’s getting closer to 40 or hormones from kids or what!

I use a tinkle razor on my whole face. I don’t have any dark hairs to worry about (yet ) just peach fuzz, but I’ve been shaving my face 1/mo or so for 2 years and it’s never changed texture.

Tinkles have an unfortunate name but they’re on amazon and super cheap. Waaay cheaper than dermaplaning. And oddly satisfying. Haha.

I’ve been getting dark, coarse chin hairs since I was a teenager. I’ve always plucked them. I have noticed in the last year or two that I’m getting more than ever, and I’ve thought about looking into lasering them, but right now I don’t think it would be worth the cost. I also shave my whole face with a tinkle razor every couple of weeks for peach fuzz and that has never changed the texture of either my peach fuzz hairs or my darker chin hairs.

I've always plucked, like @DesertDreams88, I don't spend money on this sort of thing.

I pluck mine using an Epi slim device that a trusted friend recommended a decade ago. And once I got used to the sensation, it doesn’t hurt (it did hurt the first few times) and the hairs grow back in a lot lighter. You can get it on amazon and it’s worth the $20.

@gotkimchi: I’ve used it there too when I first got it but admit it seemed to hurt more so I wimped out using it there and I’ve stuck with the chin and mustache areas.

Just FYI, it's a myth that plucking, shaving, or any other type of hair removal causes hair to grow back thicker and darker. One of the many misogynist tropes that exist to make our lives hell.
