My sweet niece is getting baptized on Sunday and I am so, so proud of her. All of us are going to my brother's church Sunday morning to cheer for her and make it a big deal. She's 10 (11 in December), and I want to get her a little something to show her how proud and excited I am. I'd prefer to stay around $25 or less. Any ideas?

Otherwise, perhaps an age appropriate bible study/devotional book? She's nearly a preteen... maybe something like this?

@photojane: Probably wouldn't be possible to order something in time but do you have a Christian bookstore/ gift store in town? They usually carry inexpensive jewlery, figurines etc to commemorate baptism.

I'm a terrible procrastinator and so now I don't have enough time to order anything cute from etsy.
My first thought was jewelery, but my mom is getting her a diamond cross necklace. I think her parents are getting her a new Bible. I will head up to the Christian bookstore tomorrow though and see if I can find anything.If anyone has any suggestions, I'm totally open! Please share!

@photojane: is she really excited about being a continuing member of the church? What religion is she? If she is Catholic, maybe a nice rosary?
Edit - just saw you mentioned she is getting a bible so I changed my answer.

Maybe you can quickly make her a booklet or envelop system of encouraging Bible verses... Like "if you are discouraged...", "if you are doubting yourself..." Then put Bible versus and maybe some of your own encouraging words?

Oh, if you go to a Christian book store, see if they have any nice wall hangings. You could get her a cross or something nice to hang in her room to commemorate it.

@photojane: I remember getting a couple books about being a Christian girl that I POURED over. Or maybe a devotional? These are all available on Amazon Prime, but seems a little dicey since its coming up so soon. I would get a book or two and a really pretty bookmark and call it a day.

You can order a PRINTABLE from Etsy as an instant download for way cheaper than the print and just have it printed on cardstock at Kinkos!

I really like those journals where each page has a bible verse printed on it. I seem to find it often at TJMAXX or Homegoods. I like to use those as a gratitude journal.

Thanks everyone! I went to Lifeway today and got her a little bag to carry her bible and stuff to church, a new Christian's interactive/fun devotional for kids (really great!), some scented pens for her devotional, and some cute lip balm (because she's a 10yo girl and loves it).
