I've been meaning to post about this for awhile...
The last few times we went to church (about 4-6 weeks ago), I was getting called out of the service because Cobi was crying inconsolably. He LOVES the nursery and playing with other kids, but no matter which service we go to it interferes with his sleep.
If we try to make the early service, we have to wake him in the morning, and either the 2nd or 3rd service coincide with his nap. He won't nap at church either, even in the quiet room.
church has become SO stressful that we've stopped going and I hate that! All of our friends are at church - both DH and I are rejuvenated by the community and the growing in our personal faith. I feel I'm missing out by not going... but at the same time Sundays have become stress-free.
We've tried switching to one nap at day now that he's 12 months... but to no avail.
How do you handle church with your LO(s)?
It's tough, but we just do it. Usually LO skips her morning nap. We feel that attending is an act of obedience and that messing up her schedule for one day is more than worth it. And even though I spend a lot of Sundays in the nursing moms' room or walking the halls, I'm still hearing snippets of the sermon or having really encouraging conversations with other parents in the same season of life. Church really isn't about me anyway. And, DH usually hears the sermon, so he makes the effort to relay the message or tell the most important points to listen for if I download the sermon later.
