I've been hearing about the Clarisonic lately and wanted to get others thoughts on it. Do you love it, think it's just OK? Do you see a difference in your skin quality, is it worth it? Thanks!!

I am also curious. I have a friend who swears by it, but then I have other friends who are meh about it. I'd love to find something that would make a difference in my complexion!

I really, really wanted one but I just don't spend much money on myself, so I bought one for my little sister for Christmas....and she doesn't like it and never uses it. I kind of want to steal it back.

I bought a Mia in November and at first I really loved it. My skin felt much smoother. What I was really hoping was that it would help with monthly hormonal breakouts, but it had no effect on that. Recently I had an allergic reaction (not related to the Clarisonic) all over my face and it's too harsh to use right now. I will probably go back to using it if this ever clears up though. In retrospect, I'm not sure it was worth it.

omg i LOVE my clarisonic. obsessed. my skin feels 100x more smooth and clean than just regular face washing. it also allows your skin products to seep in better, which allows them to work more! i use it every other day.

Thanks for the responses! I'm a bit on the fence b/c of the price - not sure how much I'll actually use it and also
B/c my skin is on the sensitive side.

Yay. I wouldn't say my skin is super clear or flawless from the clarisonic but it's helped to get rid of dry patches, flakey skin and my make-up goes on smoothly when I use it (when I don't, my make-up looks patchy after a few hours - especially blush and bronzer).

I have one (the Mia) and I like it alot. I bought it a long time ago (maybe 5 years now?) and still use it often, so I think it was worth the big price tag. I just replace the brush heads every so often. I actually hadn't been using it for awhile recently and noticed my skin getting congested. I started using it again a few nights ago and my skin feels better again already. I will definitely buy a new one when this one bites the dust.

I use it every so often. I agree that it does help clean off makeup better than just using a washcloth.
If you can wait, Sephora usually has an annual 20% off Friends and Family sale in November and it applies to the Clarisonic.
Another opportunity is at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale in July. It doesn't really get any cheaper, but they do throw in a bunch of extras like brush heads, which can get expensive.

@Mamaof2: Yes, me too! I figured I could try it for $30 and it's still going strong.

Love it! I use it every morning in the shower and I credit it for making my skin still look great as I don't exactly have the best nighttime routine.

Not sure if you have a Mary Kay friend, but they have one for $50, and I like it better than my sister's Clarisonic! I think it's gentler on my skin!

I asked a dermatologist about it and she said YAY, but not to get one if the knock off ones like the Revlon one because they spin, and what makes the Clarisonic so effective is that it vibrates and helps draw everything up the surface. She said the other ones are nothing but exfoliaters and you could do that with sugar.

@Arden: Yes, exactly. My dental hygienist friend told me that is exactly the reason why she only recommends Sonicare toothbrushes. Because the other ones spin and Sonicares vibrate and the spin motion is much harsher on your gums. I would imagine that is the same for the face brushes -- the spinning is probably harsher than what you'd want on your face.

So I searched a little to see if the Clairsonics came down in price (for some reason $250 was floating around in my mind), and I found this:

I love mine! When I haven't used it in a few days I can always tell a difference.

@looch: @LuLu Mom: @sunny: thanks for the tips!
And thanks all for your input!

@looch: There are a few different models. The original Clarisonic was around $250, but since then they've released the Mia and Mia 2 which are both in the $100 range.

I have the Mia 2 and it's the best thing I've ever bought! I highly recommend it.

Love my Mia! It isn't a miracle worker...I have pretty good skin but the one thing I did notice is when I have a lovely pimple trying to make it's appearance it tends to shrink away before it becomes a raging zit.

I have one and I love it, but its definitely an investment. The brushes need to be replaced every three months and cost around $25 a pop ... So there are times I've wondered if its truly worth it.

@rrachael: skinstore always has 15-20% off promo codes. Sometimes clarisonic is exempt but sometimes not (like right now). I stock up with the 4-pack which is normally $75 but with 15% off , each brush comes out to about $16.
honeydew / 7589 posts
@Meow: Which code isn't exempt? I'm trying right now and it keeps telling me "the products in your bag do not qualify for promotional savings".

I caved 3 months ago when a site was having a 20% off promotion on everything. I've been enjoying it so far.

@Arden: I just tried again right now - placed a 4 pack of brush heads and used "june15." It worked for me.
honeydew / 7589 posts
@Meow: Eh, it's cuz I was getting the actual Clarisonic not the brush heads. Oh well.

Alright, so I saw another product in this month's InStyle magazine...for those of you that have the Clarisonic and have replaced brushes, if the benefits were the same, would you go with this instead?
coconut / 8430 posts
@looch: Oooh interesting. I wonder how they compare! I just did a quick search on reviews and some people prefer the Clarisonic and some prefer the Luna. I am guessing it is all based on personal preference and skin type.
nectarine / 2504 posts
http://www.skinstore.com is always running promotions. Last month they had a 20% off sale and this month they have a 15% off sale--it applies to the Clarisonic.
GOLD / pineapple / 12662 posts
@looch: That's a tough call . . . but replacing the brushes is a pain. If I didn't already have a Clarisonic, I would probably go for the Luna!
