How do you clean toys and such? Hard plastic, stuffed animals, etc? Did you wash all the new stuff you receive or buy?
I have received some hand me down infant toys from my sister, so it's not like they are from some sketchy warehouse, but they were stored in a storage unit and her attic. I wiped everything with alcohol wipes then rinsed with hot water or wiped with a hot damp washcloth. Is that good enough for a teeny infant? I'll be less nervous with older kid stuff I assume.
What about soft things? Stuffed animals-- did you wash even new stuff stuffed animals? Or ones that you have had around for a while?
Finally-- gear like the stroller muff things, or the infant car seat. My sister gave me her car seat (not expired, never in an accident). Again, it's been stored for a year or so, so should I take off the cloth part and wash that? Just sponge it off? It looks clean to the naked eye.
I'm trying to figure out where the line is between *paranoid germaphobe first time mom* and *ew you didn't wash that?* is. My shower is in 2 weeks so I'm trying to get all the stuff I already have sorted before adding everything new to the mix!
