We just saw an Amazon deal come by for a cleaning service. I was thinking, what a great gift for a new or soon to be new mom! The deal got me thinking about rooms you would have a cleaning service clean. Do you have them do the whole house? Just the bathrooms and kitchen?
If you have a cleaning service, what do you have them clean?

We have them clean the whole house. She dusts, vacuums, mops, does the whole bathroom and kitchen. And changes the sheets if I need it.

@mediagirl: almost 3000 on our 2 main levels and then 900 in our basement. She only really needs to vacuum and occasionally clean our basement bathroom since we don't use it. She is here for 6 hours and charges $20/hour.

We have them “deep clean” the kitchens and the bathrooms and “light clean” the other rooms. I’m a little OCD about clean floors so I sweep and vacuum a couple times a week, so it’s not like the living room, dining room and bedrooms get that dirty. But I love how they get in all the little spaces of the kitchen that we usually miss.

our service cleans everything but bedrooms for our normal cleaning. Every now and then we'll add in bedrooms for $50 more. So they do all bathrooms, common areas, and the kitchen. In the kitchen they clean everything but inside the oven and fridge, which they will also do for extra as well. They do not wash walls or dust ceilings (again, you can pay extra for those).
They do everything else... and I mean everything!!! I love a spotless microwave!!!
ETA: our place is just under 2000 sq feet. They vacuum and tidy the basement play room as well.

{sigh} I really need to convince my husband that this is a wise investment...the last thing I want to do after work or on weekends is clean.

We only have cleaned the rooms we use: main floor and top floor. We have a finished basement but no furniture yet. So overall our house is 5000 sq feet and we have cleaned about 3000 of that.

I'd love to get a cleaning service, but I'm worried about my dog. He has free reign of the house while we're at work, and he loves company - I'd be afraid he'd follow her around the house and bark at the vacuum. Or worse, he'd make a run for it out the front door when she got there.
