This is maybe a silly question, but I'm an FTM. How do you clean your child up after feeding them solid food? A washcloth with just water? Do I use soap on the hands?

In the winter I would do a bib with sleeves (to protect their clothing sleeves) or topless if you keep your house warm enough, topped by one of the hard plastic baby Bjorn bibs that catch food spills. We usually do a perfunctory wipe with a warm washcloth, then go over to the sink to wash hands with actual soap, mainly just to form that habit for when they’re older. I only wipe their face with soap if they ate something really sticky or greasy...because I feel like if the first washcloth is soapy, I need to rinse and wipe again with just water, and I don’t have time/am lazy.
Also, see the current post about handheld/cordless vacuums. That’s your next line of defense. 🤣🤣

@Umbreon: I just used a washcloth with warm water. If they were really messy after dinner they just went straight into the bathtub.

My son generally ate topless and was wiped down with either a baby wipe/boogie wipe/damp wash cloth. If it was extra disastrous (feeding himself mr independent) I just plopped him in the tub.

Same as above warm wet washcloth (or papertowel if I'm extra way lazy) for manageable mess and straight to the bathtub if extra mess (chili, spaghetti). We used pocket bibs to catch some of the mess and rolled up sleeves or went topless depending on what dinner was.

Same as above. Investing in a bundle of cheap (but soft) thin washcloths is totally worth it!

Just wiping down really. I did BLW with both so we def got real messy! I've actually never fed them naked, but always have wet & dry wash clothes on hand, and extra paper towels as well. Luckily I also have a dog that pretty much cleans the floors for me. The only area I really had to work on were wall splatters!

Warm washcloth or baby wipe for the face, then hands under the faucet in the sink
