Have any of you gotten a clogged duct from wearing a bra? I finally bought new fitted nursing bras and wore one, wireless, for 7 hours on Friday and ended up with a clogged duct. Am I doomed to wearing nursing tanks???

could be! any time I tried to wear a bra (even wireless) that wasn't a Coobie, I got a clogged duct. I finally just wore Coobies. At night, I wore a cami with a shelf bra in it (not a nursing tank, and without a bra underneath).

I wear a super sad (as in, that is how my breasts look in it) very large nursing bra I am scared to get some that actually lift me up for this reason...

I think this happened to me. I went too long between pumps consistently one week and totally got a plugged duct. The bra was too tight.

I wore the bravado nursing bras and didn't get clogged ducts from that. The only bras that gave me clogged ducts were sports bras!

I suspect a too small strapless underwire I wore for our first postpartum date night of a clogged duct. Really frustrated me bc I'm not sure how other than a wired strapless bra to handle summer fashion when breast feeding lands me at approximately a 32E - eek!

I was prone to clogged ducts and clogged nipple pores the first 3 months (or so). As in, I would have several a week. I would get them for every reason and no reason at all, even though I took lecithen supplements. I think what finally helped was reducing my supply a bit (I had a major oversupply at that point).
Now, I never get them and i wear underwire bras. Sleep on my stomach, etc.
Also, make sure to clean the white dried milk gunk (if you get it) off your nipples in the shower. Really scrape it off. That will prevent blocked nipple pores.

I got clogged ducts every time I wore a strapless bra, even if it was just for an hour. My boobs looked terrible while BFing.

@sorrycharlie: I think I am going to try a coobie bra. Do they unsnap in the front for nursing?
@Greentea: I feel frumpy right now wearing nursing tanks to get me through but this was my second clogged duct in 2 weeks!
@rahlyrah: @bisous: This bra was wireless even! I am not even going to try a wired one after this!
@katsupgirl: No fun, I thought I had a good fit, but I guess not.
@betsyboop: I will have to check out bravado. I am looking at all my options now!
@PinkElephant: I am new to my large size and need some support too. Hoping I can find a good option!
@Anagram: Great tips. I am only 6 weeks pp and have some oversupply too. Maybe once it evens out that will help.
@Weagle: I think I am going to have terrible looking boobs while nursing too! I am just surprised it happened so fast for me.
Thanks for all your replies ladies! And sorry for my delayed response!

Yup, I have one bra that I get a clogged duct EVERY time I wear it, it took me like 3 times to realize the bra was the culprit.

I had two clogged ducts from my bras. I switched to the Coobie and even still wear them now that I'm done nursing! They are so comfy.

@creativemomma15: they do not, but if you get the standard size, the straps unhook. not the easiest thing to do, but I also just pulled the strap off my shoulder or pulled it down. depending on when we are talking about, lol.

I was really wary of this but couldn't stand not wearing a bra with underwire. At 3 months I broke down and bought a maternity underwire bra from Thyme Maternity. I've been wearing it (well, I've got 3 now) every day for the last 3 months and have yet to have any issues.
