I don't have definitive proof, but am pretty sure it actually prevented me from getting pregnant. I was on it for two cycles, went off and got pregnant the cycle after getting off of it.

@Eko: If you don't mind me asking, were you ovulating on your own prior to beginning clomid?

We did 3 IUIs - 2 with Clomid (plus one round without IUI) and 1 with Letrozole (the one that worked).

@doxielove: I was. I had undiagnosed fertility issues (multiple miscarriages), so I got boilerplate medication that included clomid, progesterone, and baby aspirin. So this really may be unrelated to your circumstances.

We did 3 clomid cycles- 1 unmonitored with TI, 2 with ovidrel & IUI. I produced 2 follicles & 3 follicles respectively (with assumed ovulation for 1st unmonitored cycle when we were on vacation) with BFN for all 3 cycles. We moved to IVF after that and were successful on our first round of IVF (antagonist protocol). It looks like I was probably ovulating on my own, but what the RE described as a "weak" ovulation.

I got pregnant twice on Clomid (2 years apart), and both were by the 2nd cycle, and monitored.

Part of my med protocol for IUI's 1-3 with my first ending in a CP. good luck!

Circling back to answer my own question. We did 3 cycles of clomid+TI with no resulting pregnancy. In fact, clomid shortened my already short luteal phase. That in combination with the nasty side effects = clomid did nada for me...

@doxielove: I'm sorry you didn't have any luck with clomid
To answer your question, I got pregnant with my son and my daughter with only one round each time

1st cycle worked for me! I wasn't ovulating on my own, and with Clomid I ended up finally ovulating on CD31!
