What laundry detergent are you using?

It's possible she has a sensitivity to the fabric, I suppose? We use Freetimes and almost never have rashes.

Usually the liners help rashes but they do hold moisture against the skin. Also, how often are you changing her? I found I had to be pretty diligent about changing every 2 hours to keep her bottom dry. Its just so much harder in cloth to feel when they are wet but the diaper is moist and sitting against their skin.

Whenever we have had rashes it has been either using the wrong detergent, not changing often enough or a super heinous poo.

Does it look welt-y or slightly chemical burn-y? L gets that sometimes if I use too much detergent/don't rinse them enough. Those ones are a little harder to clear up, and require a day or two of constant oil-applying.

Also sometimes I notice that certain foods affect the acidity of her urine (I think??), and then sitting in the cloth diaper makes her bottom a little red. It would be different in a sposie because they wick away the moisture. I just give her bottom a good coating of coconut oil and she's good from there.

@shopaholic: I found that my 4.0's without a liner made her a bit red. Mostly because like I said above due to the dampness sitting against her. The 4.0's are made with a different stay dry fleece type rather than the normal fleece that other brands use (but the other brands get pilly).
