can I put just a prefold cloth diaper inside of a Grovia Hook and Loop... (the soaker pads are kinda pricey?)

I've wondered the same thing. I'm looking forward to finding out! I have 3 GroVia shells, and a pkg of the biosoakers, but want to save those. I also thought the soakers were pricey. We're still ttc, but slowly building a stash.

Have you considered asking the customer service of a website like kellyscloset.com? I had an insert question and wrote them and got a great response, particularly not something I had even considered.

@sorrycharlie: I did some more research on the internet and a few people said that they use Grovia hook and loop (I think is the name) with prefolds as well, and they said it worked great. I ended up ordering some to use with prefolds so I'll let you know when I try them out!

I went to a diaper party a few weeks ago and they actually recommended doing that!
Use the shell with a flat or a pre-fold around the house, when you'll have the patience to deal with a flat, then use the inserts when you're running errands or if someone is babysitting.

Oh I'm glad you updated this thread! I forgot to let @sorrycharlie: know that I got the diapers and tried them out last night! The covers I had before didn't keep anything in! The grovia with a prefold kept a huge poop in! yay! I say definitely go with Grovia! I love them already!

@lovelife: YES! good to know! did you have to use a new cover, or were you able to reuse it with the new diaper change? I heard Flip benefits over GroVia in that way because you can wipe it clean instead of the mesh that the GroVia's got?

@sorrycharlie: I did have to change the cover... but It was with the trifold way. I think I'm going to try "the flying angel wing fold" (greenmountaindiapers.com) fold with a snappi under the cover next and see if that works better!
the trifold would work for pee though..
