My friend's LO is turning 2 soon. I asked for birthday gift suggestions and she said clothes (their hand me down stash is running out) would be great. I want to spend $40-$50....do you prefer play clothes or one or two special occasion outfits when it comes to gifts?

I'd give regular every day outfits. I'd also hit up TJmaxx so I could get more for my money, too.

Play clothes! LO's go through them faster than nice outfits.

Definitely everyday clothes... idk if I really define that as "play clothes" though. I may be the minority but I like things that we could go to dinner, run errands, etc., but not necessarily things I'd let the kids play in the dirt in. If that makes any sense.

Regular clothes, leggings, sweats, basic shirts. LO rarely wears anything too dressy.

I'd do a combo. Could you do one semi-dressy ($15ish) and then $20 of play clothes? That would give her 2-3 outfits.
