C has been on my boobs nonstop since this morning and I'm starting to get really sore. There can't possibly be any milk in there the way she's stayed attached. She doesn't want a paci though. Sounds like cluster feeding but I thought that was only a few hours at a time?

M has been like this today, but he's only a week old. I have no idea what is normal, though.

We've had random days like that over the past few weeks too- the good news was that it led to some awesome night sleep on those nights. When I got sore I handed him off to my husband and pumped instead to take a break.

LO was on my boob 24/7 or at least wanted to be when she was newborn. Boob is like the original pacifier.

It could be a growth spurt. There's one at 3 weeks but T did his at 2 weeks instead!

E has been like this the last couple of days. He does sleep pretty well at night tho. I don't mind too much expect that it makes my boobs pretty sore. I am just waiting it out.

Could be a growth spurt. When DS was that age he nursed all day long. Like non stop on my boob. I'd put him down and he'd want to nurse like 20 minutes later. It lasted for about 10 days then he started stretching out his nursing.

She's doing exactly what your body needs her to do to support her as she gets bigger. Growth spurts can be a total pain, but it's totally normal. You're doing a great job and it sounds like she is too!

C was like that a lot in the first several weeks. I just kept reminding myself that it was establishing my supply so we could successfully breastfeed in the long term. And I used soothies and kept them in the fridge while she nursed, and lots of lanolin the rest of the time!

There's a growth spurt at 10 days. Just keep plugging along. Baby is trying to get your body to make more milk.
