For those of you who co-slept with a child in the bed. How long did you do it, 1, 2, 3? I'm pretty sure my child is sleeping with us till he's 10 ha!

DS is 8 months and we're still bedsharing He's already almost 27lbs though and we only have a queen bed so at some point we will have to move him over a few inches into his sidecarred crib aha. We'll probably try to transition him to his own room when he's closer to 2? I'm not really sure though since I initially thought we would only cosleep until 6 months We love having him in our bed so we're just going to keep going until it feels natural/right to stop.

Hi baby twin!
We did this until DS could roll then the bed became kind of off limits because of safety.
That said, he is still in our room in his own crib and will be for another year as far as I can tell! I like it

We coslept from 4 months to 2 1/2. At that point we transitioned him to a twin bed fairly easily.

My six and a half year old still wants to cosleep. Trying to convince him (bribe him) to sleep independently and it's not going well.

My son just turned 6 and we cosleep. He says he can't fall asleep without me, but I know this is not the case, he can fall asleep just fine when he's at my parent's house overnight. Problem is that the kid likes to cuddle and be cuddled.

DS started crawling in bed with us at 18 months when the crib no longer kept him in and we had to remove the rail. He does still go to sleep in his own bed, but right now at 25 months ends up in our bed before 11 every night.
I hope to convince him to sleep in his new toddler bed once we get that set up (also bought a new noise machine/projector and he's getting a little sister to share his room with), but we'll see how that goes!
I will say it's hard because we love the extra cuddles too!

LO is 4.5 and still co-sleeps. She's a cuddler and wants to be snuggled up with me to fall asleep and stay asleep. She is getting a "big girl princess bed" for Christmas, but it will be in our bedroom. It was her request....we'll see if/how much she will use it!

Last time until 8 months. She started spending part of the night in her crib beginning at 6 months. This one will likely be a little sooner, he is 4 months and spends a few hours at the start of the night in his crib.
I like it until three months and then it just sucks.

We didn't set out to cosleep, but when DS was sick we'd bring him into our bed, at some point (I think around the time we moved) he started waking up every night and ask to come into our bed and we just went with it in the name of sleep. Now it is a nightly occurrence - he is 2.5 - and I don't see him sleeping through the night in his own bed anytime soon.
We are trying to decide if getting him a big boy bed for his own room or buying a king size bed for our room is a better solution

@josina: my mom got G a big bear and we tell her he gets lonely if she leaves.........she stays with him

I praise all of you who were able to get them out of your bed before 1 .
@looch: @josina: @yoursilverlining: it's funny y'all mention cuddles, DS hates to be cuddled, but his room is across the house and I don't like the idea of him sleeping alone so for now he just sleep with his feet in my ribs lol.
@sugarpea: we have a king and DS is right around 26lbs and it still doesn't feel like enough room hahaha. Also I was super adamant that I was never going to co sleep 🙄Ha!
@wrkbrk: Hey twin! So proud you got him in his own space, DS bed isn't even put together anymore, it's in pieces in the closet lol.
Yup definitly sounds like he'll be around till at least 3ish!

@Jackiedavis87: I did not have a cuddler until he was about 3, so you never know!

@FaithFertility: Awesome that works! One more trick to tuck in my pocket for later. I plan to tell him that little sister will get lonely without him.
@Jackiedavis87: We have a king size also... DS usually sleeps above our heads parallel to the headboard, It works for now but I woke up last night to DS's feet right in DH's face and just laughed.

We bed shared for the first month, then used a co-sleeper (different ones over the course) until 10 months. At 10 months, we started her in her room and she'd end up in a pnp in our room. This lasted til she was 18 months, when she mostly started sleeping in her own room all night.
Through all of these stages, my husband and I checked in with each other regularly - to ensure we both felt good about our sleeping arrangement. It worked for us, and the transition felt pretty natural.

@CakeLady: we upgraded to a king when lo was around 1.5 for more space. Of course since she sleeps thisclose to me I didn't really gain that much extra space lol but I still like the larger bed

@yoursilverlining: Even with DH is out of town, I somehow still get crowded to the edge of the bed... maybe the king solution is wishful thinking, but it couldn't be any worse!
