We're trying to figure out this new life with a baby after a rough few days adjusting on pretty much no sleep. My husband and I are now taking turns with him at night so we can each get a few hours of uninterrupted sleep. But this means the baby is sleeping in different rooms and environments. i.e. in a pack n play in the bedroom or in a little bassinet in the living room with the TV blasting. Just wherever we are and can put him down, and it seems he does better when there's noise.
Just wondering if this is kind of the norm at the beginning and if we're setting him up for any bad habits? Eventually I'll want him to have a proper sleep routine where he sleeps in a quiet room in the dark in his crib but that's just not going to happen right now. Am I doing any damage this early on? We are really just doing whatever we can to hang on right now and be able to function!
