I put it on C's diaper rash sometimes, and used it on her cradle cap.
Food, I have made a really yummy coconut granola, with the coconut oil and coconut flakes, plus the usual granola ingredients.

to fry eggs or pancakes. it doesn't work on my skin and give me a rash.

@jodyblair: I've used it as a conditioner but it was super oily and had to wash my hair out about 4 times to get it not so greasy. I have fine hair.
I like to use it as a moisturizer when I get out of the shower.

@jodyblair: no I put it on the tips of my hair while it's dry then shower/shampoo as usual. Sometimes I'll put a tiny amount in my hair (just the tips) and leave it in.

A couple of friends have told me recently that it works great as eye makeup remover. Haven't tried it myself yet! Another friend said you can use it as sunscreen, but I wouldn't recommend as it's only about 7 SPF.

I've smeared it on our dry wood floors and it shined. Then our dog licked it obsessively and the shine was gone.
I read a blog where a woman smears it on her face before taking a shower in the morning.
We have used it for sexy time before. If you like cooking with it, don't do this. I don't know if I can transition to cooking with it after using it in such a personal way!

Mixed with baking soda and cornstarch as deodorant. And I LOVE it. I tried it as a skin moisturizer but if I use it a ton it makes me itch. So far it's been little enough at a time and infrequently enough that it doesn't bother me as deodorant.

@Torchwood: I mix with baking soda and arrowroot powder for deodorant... I love it too! Definitely my favorite use of coconut oil as well!

@QueensBee: @Torchwood: How do you apply the deodorant? Just kind of...rub some in? And it doesn't leave any grease spots on your clothes?

@MrsSCB: Yes, I use a spoon to scoop out a dime-sized amount from a mason jar and just rub it in my pits! There is usually a little extra left on my hands that I rinse off. It hasn't stained any of my clothes and I feel dry and fresh all day long, even in the summer! I was skeptical at first and was seriously shocked when I saw how well it worked!

@MrsSCB: Same here, no stains ever, and it's great! I used to get really bad razor burn in my armpits, and it's gotten SO much better since I switched. I will say it's not an antiperspirant, so I do sweat a little, but not heavily (dryer than if I used nothing). I definitely stay dry and don't have pit stains or anything. (And antiperspirants are actually really bad for you, because you sweat for a reason.) I was skeptical too, but I love it!

@Torchwood: @QueensBee: Thanks! I'm actually not a heavy sweat-er anyway, so this sounds like it would work pretty well. I have really sensitive skin, so it would probably be gentler, too.

Almost everything! My favorite use may be as a baby moisturizer. No chemicals or yucky stuff!
Also for all kinds of cooking, to replace butter in baking, as a facial cleanser/moisturizer, as a hair conditioner

I used it on my belly for both pregnancies and didn't get any stretch marks.

oh and just as a PSA: make sure you don't get water in your coconut oil, as it can cause it to mold (so gross)
