We bought our home as-is new. It came with a coil-top electric stove. In the 7 years we have lived there, the coils have never been flat. I'm about to lose my mind on them. Frying, all the oil slides to the back of the pan. Making eggs, they all slide to the back. I cook A LOT and this is extremely frustrating.
Anyone else have this problem - or a solution? (other than buying a new stove)?

When I was in college my stove was like this. I use to just balance my pots so that it would make it pot level aka not having the pot exactly line up with the coil but off set so that more weight was on the high part of the tilt. The only problem was the heat wasn't disputed evenly which wasn't as bad as having a tilted pan.
7 years... is a long time to deal with this. I would probably start saving for a new stove. They say most kitchen appliances have a life of 10 years or so.

Are the coils themselves bent/broken in some way? You can order replacements for most electric coil stoves. If you can get new coils, and make sure the stove itself is properly level it should be better. Maybe not good, 'cause that kind of stove is always maddening for me, but, better.

Honestly - those are by far my least favorite kind of stove to cook on. I'd be saving up for a new stove!
