Anything with a decongestant will affect your supply. My PCP told me nasal sprays like Afrin are OK (I trust her opinion because she has a baby the same age as mine and she would never give me the OK on something she wouldn't be willing to take herself). But I don't know if Afrin would help with a cough.

Honey, especially local, should help your cough!!! I always make DH a homemade "cough syrup" w/ honey, acv, & cayenne that helps & it wouldn't affect your supply (found it on pinterest)! Also burts honey lemon drops are heaven & helped my cough, and a steam bath with eucalyptus oil should help your sinuses.... OH & don't forget hot tea w/ lemon & honey, I like Tazo Passion tea (you could even add a bag of Mother's Milk tea to the mix to help your supply).
ETA: Continue nursing your lo despite you not feeling well... your body is already making sickness specific antibodies to protect him.

@cheert16: Apple cider vinegar! I got Braggs which is, raw unfiltered organic.. I've used it when treating strep too (along with raw garlic). I can track down the recipe if you'd like! I had to get creative with remedies through pregnancy & bf'ing as long as we have. lol

Try this for your nose:

You can pick some up at Target, Walmart, or even any drug store. Kind of gross, but just make sure you blow your nose right after you rinse and make sure you use warm water. Cold water will sting and not feel very comfortable. This things works WONDERS with a drippy and stuffy nose. You can also start taking some zinc and probiotics. My oldest gave me a terrible cold while I was still nursing my youngest and all of that helped a lot. The zinc and probiotics will help somewhat if you're already full-on into your cold, but always good to have for the next time you feel a cold coming on. And these were all recommended by my doctor who knew that I was nursing at the time. All of it is safe for nursing. Hope you feel better soon!

Just wanted to say I'm sorry you're sick! I got sick all the time when my LO started daycare. I think at one point I got desperate and took that one cough syrup you can take while pregnant that starts with a D. Didn't seem to affect my supply too much. I also took Sudafed once or twice when desperate - I do think this hurt my supply (lit says it decreases it by 25%). I also took Benedryl and I think that helped dry up the congestion - don't think it affected my supply. Oh, I also did Afrin and the Vicks thing that you sniff - that actually helped a lot. I hope you feel better soon.
