My LO is 20+ lbs so I def do not "need" the infant insert anymore. I removed it today, (not because he out grew it, it still fit. But, because he got too warm).
I haven't removed the head/neck support though. I know it goes with the infant insert, but it looks to me that it is more safe to leave it in for awhile.
My husband hates it because he says it makes lo looked squished.
When did you take it off? How many pounds was LO?

@TurtleDoves: Hmmm I'm not sure P's weight (I'll check tomorrow) but we still have ours in.... she's slender though so she doesn't seem squished.

I know the old models of CC say you can't remove the insert until the child is 20lbs. But, the newer ones, like mine, and probably yours, say the infant insert can come out at 15lbs. -
@TurtleDoves: We have both in still. My manual (printed in 2011) says it has to be used until 25lb, but I think that the prints since then have dropped the weight down.

@runsyellowlites: see mine said 15lb. and then when I was buying it and read the amazon reviews, it kept saying different weights for each model. I am guessing they change standards every year? I know Esom is at least 20lbs as of 1 month ago. So by now, maybe 21lbs?
Do you think he needs it?
Here is him without anything and here is him with *just* the head support pillow.
I already stored away the infant insert, but now am rethinking it.

@TurtleDoves: First, he is friggin adorable!!!!! Second, I don't think he looks squished with it in.... does it cause his head to slump forward or anything when he falls asleep? I know some head rests/pillows can do that so then I'd probably want to take it out too!

you know...I really don't know about the head thing. We've only had it less than 3 weeks and I don't drive a long ways, only running errands around town, so he never really sleeps in his car seat, especially at his age. But, we have a roadtrip coming up.
I figure, i'll take the headrest off if it is bugging him, but for now, i'll keep it just for my sanity. I'm not ready for him to grow up;)
