DS is due in november, and will be our third baby and second boy. he is getting pretty much zero new stuff--with DD being our first girl, we got gifted tons of new clothes and other cute gifts, but this little guy is getting very little. i'd like to buy a special coming home from the hospital outfit for him that could also be something we'd get good use out of for the first few weeks. i got my daughter a cute outfit as well, but i have tiny babies (first two were 6.5 lbs and this guy is trending similar) and she was absolutely swimming in the outfit, so i'd love to find something that's truly NB sized. would love any recs for some special coming home outfits! thanks!

We are having our 3rd but 1st boy; planning to order a little brother outfit from somewhere, currently have a few in my Amazon cart.
I actually don't remember bringing anything truly special for either of my girls to wear
With my 2nd it was even worse b/c I didn't even have washed clothes (she came early), so she just wore whatever my MIL could get from my SIL haha!

We got a rainbow print footie in NB size from Hanna Andersson that will probably be the coming home outfit just because it's the smallest thing we've got in her closet, and I want to make sure she wears it (it's SO cute). So that might be a place to look for your little guy.

@nwm: It isn't special looking, but DS and DD picked out #3's coming home outfit (newborn size from Carter's). Literally DS reached out of his stroller and grabbed it (first thing he grabbed there) and DD commented that she "loved it so much". Maybe your LO's could pick out something?

L’oved Baby sleepers are so soft and good quality and they seem to be a pretty true newborn size. I also like Kissy Kissy and find they run pretty small. Both brands are pricy, but have good resale value. You may also want to see what you can find in premie. I accidentally bought a premie sleeper from Nordstrom Baby (thought it was NB), but it fit so well for the first week or so.

@nwm: yesss I’ve been eyeing the kate Quinn sale! The outfit we have from her has held up wonderfully.
For our girl I bought an Oeuf footie pajama onesie for her take home outfit and it was so so nice. I am going to keep that thing until the day I die and I love it. They run small, a newborn size would probably not be too big for your guy. My boy I did the same but Pima cotton from Hanna in nb size and it was still huge on my 9-pounder, so I don’t recommend that.
