What do you guys do about a convertible car seat while you're traveling (specifically, flying)?
Until recently, LO still fit into her Chicco infant seat so we just took that with us. Now she finally outgrew it, so we either need to buy another convertible just for flying or take our Britax with us. I'm a little hesitant about taking our expensive seat and having the airline toss it around.
What do you do?

We fly long haul regularly, and my son gets a seat now...so we bring on board a Cosco Scenera and he sits in there...it is especially important when we fly overnight because we can tilt the seat so he can sleep, otherwise, we're all a mess!

We got a cosco scenera too! Its only $35 and is pretty light so its great for travel!
We actually use them at home too rather than switch out their Britax seats my DH just grabs the cosco ones!

@mrs. bird: oh oops, should have specified - she flies as a lap infant. I was asking for once we reach the destination. We check our car seat.

Either way, the Scenera is our travel seat. I've brought it on board and I've checked it.

@pinkcupcake: it's a decent seat HOWEVER it is not so easy to install rear facing without a pool noodle or rolled up towel, so take that into consideration.
I like it because it is inexpensive and super light. I install it forward facing now that my son is three but I have also done a front facing install on trips when he was over a year old, even though he rode rear facing at home.

last time we flew we rented one from the car company and will never do it again (they were so flimsy :() thankfully we only needed it for a 10 min drive to/from hotel.
next time we'll be bringing our britax.
