I feel like Costco has the highest quality items (although I haven't been in a BJ's). I spend way less there than any other grocery store too.

Costco! Quality is WAY better. I agree with @T.H.O.U.: about not liking to shop at Wal-Mart let alone a Wal-Mart in bulk

We only have Sam's club and a Costco here. You can go into both stores to see the prices. I ended going with Costco because I felt like they had many items I could use.

Looking back, I'm glad I chose Costco because they treat their employees better than the Walmart owned Sam's club.

As for BJ's, my parents have one near them. I haven't been to BJ'S in a long time but I believe they take manufactured coupons. Sam's club might also.

When I move back east, I might have to see how BJ's prices compare to Costco's.

I have shopped all three and been members of both Sam's and BJ's. Costco has the largest variety of "name brand" items. I feel the prices are higher as well, but you could argue that the quality is better. I don't feel that Sam's is low quality at all. It just seems that way because they don't carry Hannah Andersson pj's, for example. BJ's was on par with Sam's in my opinion, but more regional feeling. Smaller. But it was cheaper than Costco for sure. If your mom already has a BJ's maybe you could just shop with her when you want to go there and get a Costco card for variety. It's great especially around the holidays because they have good gift items.

I'm a BJs member because nothing else is nearby anyway. I love it! I think they have quality, great priced items. They also take a BJs and a manufacturer coupon per item.

also, your mom may be able to add you for free, not half..have her ask about adding a household member. a family member did it for me.

@lovehoneybee: Ah, yeah. I remember living in PA and having to go to state stores or beer distributors to get alcohol. WA just allowed alcohol to be sold in grocery stores and others stores like Costco as of last year. Though, we have a big liquor tax.

DH said we pay about $10 more per bottle compared to PA prices. He said he would rather go to a wine & spirit shop than pay the liquor and liter tax we have to pay.
