I think if that is working for you, it's all right. When we transitioned DD to WCM during the day (I still nurse at wake up and bedtime), I stopped nursing during the days on weekends as well - it was just too confusing to her to do something different during the week than we did on weekends. I am actually glad to be done nursing during the day (I can wear regular clothes again!!), but if your LO is okay with switching things up, that sounds great.

I nurse LO 2x a day during the week and she gets cow's milk at daycare and dinner. On the weekends I typically nurse 2-3x a day (at naps as well) and she get cow's milk at dinner time.

ETA: on the weekends she may or may not get cow's milk throughout the day. I don't really sweat it which is why I never bring cow's milk out with us even if we're gone the whole day. I'll typically let her drink water at meals or ask for whole milk at restaurants.

We have been doing this routine for 9 months (she's almost 21 months).

We did the same thing when F turned a year. When we're together we offer cows milk with meals and water is out the rest of the day/at snacks. I don't pay much attention to how much cows milk he drinks, because I'm still nursing. He's 16 months now and doing fine.

@jetsa: Nope. your body will adjust. It's crazy; if we miss the morning session because LO slept in I will be engorged and leaking by days end!
