I bought a cheap one for my DIY wedding invites but it sucks and ruins everything.
I want a new one that will last for years..Swingline?

We like the slider ones much better. Easier to line up and easier to store. You do have to buy replacement blades but those are cheap.

@autumnlove: Do you find that it kind of cuts at an angle if the stack is too thick?

@spaniellove: yes, but it doesn't even do clean cuts on a single sheet of cardstock!
@T.H.O.U.: I will check those out!

@autumnlove: This is kinda like the one we have. With a good coupon for Michaels you can get a good price on them.

No, but I do have a roller cutter I use all the time for straight lines. It doesn't do very many pages at a time depending on the paper thickness, but that's how I cut out my DIY wedding invitations!

@autumnlove: FWIW, this is the one I have and it works decently unless I'm working with a thick stack of paper.

I keep buying cheap ones from the craft stores. I have thought about a guillotine one but right now the slider one works for me. If I end up with any projects that require cutting lots of paper though I will grab one.

I have a "nice" Swingline slider one that I HATE. It never cuts straight. I much prefer my little cheap guillotine cutter, but it is only 9" long.
