I want to try to DIY as much as I can for LO's bday, so I'm trying to start early.
I really like the look of this banner, and it looks easy enough, but the one thing I don't know about is how to cut out the scalloped edges. Can I buy them pre-made? I'm afraid that if I do it with scissors, I'll make them all lopsided.

If you trace out the edges first, happy with the trace/outline, and then make the cuts?

I have scissors that do scalloped edges, you can get them at Michael's. They aren't as big but it would still be cute. I would trace a plate then use those scissors.

I second what @artbee said, they make scalloped scissors.
Or else there are scallop cutouts.
If you know someone with a silhouette machine, that's probably how the etsy seller did that.

@BabyBoecksMom: I'm pretty sure that's a cricut design! I know that one of the teacher's did it at my school. I think it's a matter of getting the cartridge, which I could borrow from her.
I don't mind doing it---I have a Cricut!!!!

I second the idea that it's a cricut design... I got a similar banner from an etsy seller for Wagon Jr.'s party! Loved it!
If you can't get the cricut and cartridge, maybe you can buy just the cut out shapes on cardstock from someone? pre-cut?

It's for sure something from the Cricut. If you can't get the cartridge for Jennimac to use, maybe there's someone you can buy them from on Etsy? You should be able to get a circle punch like that at Michaels, I did a similar banner for our wedding and that's where I found mine!

I would get a scalloped template and some round templates .. you can probably find them online!

@Jennimac: Wow! That's so nice of you!! Her birthday is still months away so I'm just trying to gather the ideas. I hope to start in the next month and I will definitely keep that in mind when I actually start making it.
