Use a small binder under the mattress instead, if you are aiming to prop up the baby a bit.

We used a rolled up towel.

@andrea we have been using a rolled up towel under the mattress but it doesn't elevate as much asthe wedge they wedge they used in his bed in the hospital.
just exploring options why he doesn't like going down in his crib as much...

@lydg: do you have the rock n play? I used that in the beginning for more elevation.

We also used a rolled up towel. When she was elevated too much she would end up rolling down to the bottom of the crib!

@andrea no but it's an option I'm going to explore! How long would you let your LO sleep in it?

@lydg: I only used it for a few weeks but I've heard other ladies say that they used it for much longer.

LO hated being flat on his back at first (would scream). So, we let him sleep in the R&P until he was like 15 weeks when he showed cues of wanting to be on his back. We tried the crib wedge and it didn't help. When we transitioned him to the crib at 15 weeks, we tried the wedge again and he was too big for it. He moved too much and rolled down and off of it (like he was sledding!) So, for us it was not worth it.

I used a pillow under one end of the mattress.

I'm thinking about trying a rolled up a+a blanket temporarily...he is kind of a roller though so I have some reservations...maybe under the crib sheet? I use the blanket when I change him & it seems to help.

@lydg: You could also prop up one end of the crib. Use dictionaries or something?
