@BabyBoecksMom: I'm just really not a fan of "alternative" spellings. I very much prefer it as Cora.

@char54: yes! It was breakfast food!
@BabyBoecksMom: I think if it has sentimental meaning with the "K" then it would be alright. Do it if it means something to you:)

@TurtleDoves: Agreed with the others - I very much prefer Cora with a C. Kora/Korah reminds me of the Kardashians, lol. That being said, if it's super super important to you to have the same intial as your DD, do it. It's your baby and you can name her whatever you like!

I actually just had a thought how pretty the name Coraline was yesterday!

I think people would always assume it was spelled with a C anyways - it's the 155th most popular name where as Kora is the 975th.

Love it! Very pretty with your dd's name as well. I prefer the C just because with a K it may get confused with Kara...could just be me though!

Love it with your DD's name! I wanted Cora on my list but my step cousin's daughter is Corah. No K! Haha

Love it! More so with a C than a K.
It would have been on our list but the first 3 letters of DH's last name are "Cor", so that would be a little weird.

Well...it's my daughter's name so I am most definitely partial to it.

Oh, I don't like it with a K either.
It reminds me of Kourtney/Khloe. I am not a fan of taking names that are supposed to start with a C and making them start with a K instead.

Love it! I like Corinne or Corinna if you are exploring longer versions with Cora as a NN. Corinne is on my short list!

@BabyBoecksMom: oh boo!! Coralee is so pretty though, would he like Coraline? Or you could do Cora Lee.
I admit I do like the spelling Cora much, much better than Kora. I agree that Kora/Korah made me think "koran". HOWEVER I am also a big advocate for your child, your choice when it comes to names and if you LOVE it and don't care about negative opinions - then go for it! I knew that there would be a lot of haters with my sons name (as there were and still are), but I just loved/love it SO much I don't even care.

I love it, but definitely spelled with a C. I babysat a little girl for a long time whose name was Cora Jane (Jane was her middle name but they often called her by both.) I thought it was adorable!

Love Cora with a C!
My friend's daughter is Cora (I guess they love the book/movie Last of the Mohicans)
My friend's niece is Quorra...also confuses me when they call her Q

Love Cora with a C. Definitely not with a K. Is there another way to add something of yours?

love cora with a C.
Just know some people may ask if you named your child after Downton Abby

LOVE Cora... Especially with a C. If we weren't doing E names this would be on our very very short list

I way prefer the C version - the K looks too modern and off putting to me. I like it!

It's popular in my culture amongst my aunts and grandmas... It's short for Corazon, which means "heart" in Spanish.

"Kora" reminds me of a name one of the Kardashians would use. Plus people would constantly misspell it.

@char54: @lawbee11: Kora also made me think of the Kardashians!
@babyboecksmom: what about giving her your middle name?

I like it fine. I immediately think of Iron Chef Cat Cora.
