That scene made me cry too. I cannot imagine having that conversation with my son… I am practically crying just thinking about it…

That scene totally made me cry too. I love that show so much. And to think someone said they hated Max in the favourite Parenthood character thread .

@Smurfette: The whole Max thing was so sad. I've worked with kids with aspergers and I think he does a really good job with his acting. I hate hate hate when kids are jerks and make other kids feel like that.

@Smurfette: Yes! And the word 'hate' was used. It made me really sad because I think he's such an important character / storyline in the show to bring awareness to ASD. The general dislike for Sydney though I totally understand...she's just a brat!

That was a sad scene! Kids can be so cruel. I do, however, occasionally dislike the way excuses are always made for Max's behavior. I've taught children all across the spectrum, and I think it's important for Max to have clear boundaries and be more comfortable waiting his turn, transitioning, etc. Just wish I'd see less accommodation and more learning opportunities.
Sydney is kind of a brat, but I think her behavior is to be expected for a former only child who always had the limelight. Victor's adoption was really quick, and her parents' separation has been tricky.
I can't wait to watch, tonight!

@chopsuey: ugh he is such a prick. I am really getting angry at Joel. Just go to counseling ready & work your marriage drama out!

@deerylou: Agreed about the excuses. Likes last week when he got upset at his aunt about the printer, and his parents got mad at her also.
@Mrs. Jump Rope: It hasn't popped up on my DVR yet, and DH won't be home until Sunday to watch with me and you're making me not want to wait lol!
