I am somewhat hesitant to go down this road again but after talking to my OB this morning, I am leaning toward d&c. However they can't get me in until Wednesday. I think that will be okay even though I would like to get it over with.
Would you wait for the procedure or go the medication route to move forward faster??

Are you having any bleeding/spotting/cramping right now?
With my first, I waited almost a week and a half before doing the D&C. Nothing every naturally happened.
With this second, we found out on a Friday and they got my in the following Wednesday.
Personally, I am so happy we did the procedure. It was kinda healing to know it was just all taken care of.

I had a D&C, but it was the very next day. I just needed it to be over and the recovery wasnt bad at all. Are you bleeding or cramping now? If not, I would wait for the D&C. My body never showed any signs of doing it on its own.

@T.H.O.U.: @lilteacherbee: no symptoms now. So it seems like there is no urgency on the physical side . Hearing about experiences like yours, the idea of just having it done is what sounds less bad than going through the medication route.

With my miscarriage we decided to go straight to the D&C. I never had any signs of miscarrying, and since it had been several weeks my dr was nervous about infections if we waited. I'm glad we chose the D&C, just because I think it would have been much harder to process the loss while managing pain and the effects of medicated management.

I did medical management bc I was scared of going for surgery. I kind of regretted it, and if god forbid it happens to me again I'll choose the d&c. Feel free to wall me if you want to discuss it more!

I did the D&C both times I had a missed miscarriage and I'm glad that I did. Symptom-wise, it started the process earlier and got rid of my symptoms quicker. My only problem with D&Cs is that I bleed for a long time. Currently going into week 7 of bleeding for my second D&C.

@Weagle: I am in the same boat. We found out yesterday at my 12 wk appt that the baby stopped growing around 9 wks. I have had no symptoms. At this point I doubt anything will change. I am apprehensive about having to experience the medication route.
I really appreciate you all sharing your experiences during this really awful time. It helps a lot to feel like I am not making decisions blindly.

I had a natural m/c at 12 weeks, helped along with medicine. I would have preferred a D&C. Less messy, less painful, etc. I really didn't want to feel all those cramps and I bled so much, it was insane. Morphine barely took the edge off and I basically begged them for stronger meds while they kept pulling everything out of me. I would have really preferred to just be knocked out and have it taken care of while I was unconscious (Oddly enough, the natural one at 7 weeks wasn't like this at all). I had a blighted ovum with no signs of anything wrong, so i opted for a D&C. Once it was confirmed, i didn't want to wait, i wanted it over with as fast as possible so i could move on. Besides the couple minor problems i had following the D&C (intermittent bleeding, but nothing painful or anything) i'm really glad i opted for it. The procedure itself was as easy as could be (i've had paps that were more uncomfortable) and there was zero pain involved. AF returned 5 weeks later. I'm sorry you have to make this decision but i hope our input helps somewhat.

I'm terribly sorry for your loss. 
I had a D&C but it was possibly an ectopic pregnancy, so I also had laparoscopic surgery as well. This happened the same day (well, next day but I stayed in the hospital overnight) so there was no wait time.
If I had been given the option, I still would've gone through with a D&C. My D&C had some complications but even so, the entire process helped me get past it. Waiting it out at home, I don't think I could have processed the loss as well. I know this isn't the case for everyone.

i opted for a d & c, and my experience was much like yours. Found out at my 10 week appt that it had stopped growing at 8 weeks, even though i still had pregnancy symptoms until my 10 week appt! once i found out, i just wanted it over with and i've never regretted it. personally, i couldn't imagine taking medicine and waiting it out (that's just me, though), and i couldn't risk miscarrying while i was at work or something.
i think whatever you decide, will be the right decision for you. i'm really sorry you have to go through this. i completely understand.

So sorry for your loss. I found out at 9 weeks that it had stopped growing at 7. I had no bleeding whatsoever and my hcg was really high like over a 170,000 the next week so we decided to do a D&C. I'm so glad I did because I don't think I could have waited to miscarry on my own. It would have probably taken weeks. I just wanted to push the reset button.
I spotted and had some minor bleeding for 2 weeks post D&C and AF returned 30 days later.

@MamaCate: I'm so sorry for your loss. Personally, I would go with the D&C. I had one when I had a blighted ovum - it took six days to get the appointment but I was ok with it. The thought of the medical management terrified me whereas the D&C was very easy physically.
Also, from the info I was given, medically induced mc after eight weeks are generally not preferred due to the size and increased risk of complications (retained tissue, longer process etc). It might be something to look into to help make your decision easier. Again, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Ladies, thank you all so much for sharing your stories. After hearing them, I am feeling more resolved that waiting for the procedure is the right choice for me. I will be able to wrap up a few things at work and then will clear my schedule to take the rest of the week if needed.
I am at work today and while it is surreal it has been good to have the distraction and the support. Pretty much everyone knew about my pregnancy and while it sucks, I do feel really comforted by all the hugs and tears.
