Has anyone taken LO to Day out with Thomas? We just decided to take LO and I'm so excited!

Yup! We did it last year and will again this year. Thomas rules!

@Truth Bombs: @SeptMomma12: so glad to hear you all had fun. I can't wait to see his face when he sees Thomas!

We did when LO was 2 and it was a total disaster. Well...I can't say total. He loved looking at Thomas from the outside, was mesmerized by him...again, as long as he was outside the train.
When we got on, he screamed for the entire ride. It was hot, crowded, and he couldn't get out of the seat for obvious reasons. I was so embarrassed. So we'll think twice before doing that again.

@jhd: we just did this! You could either ride the Thomas or Percy train and they had some fun little things to do around the trains. The train ride was fun, and just the right amount of time, maybe 20-25 minutes? LO was terrified of Thomas up close at first and we couldn't get a pic of him in front of him. Hahaha. But he got used to him.
The stuff they had to buy there was super overpriced I thought. I ended up buying some Thomas keepsakes at Target the next day instead.

@hellobeeboston: definitely going to do that! I was looking at tix online last night. Hoping to get a spot in cars 1 or 2. Do you think it matters where you are on the train?

I was thinking about it, but the one closest to me is an hour drive and i wasn't sure it was worth it.

@jhd: line up early then! We couldn't book the position. But if you're first in line you get to pick. I didn't think it mattered but I think all the trains are different and have different features, they just tack Thomas onto the front. So there was one car that had an all glass second floor, but it was too hot for that on the day we went. But that was just a feature of the North Conway NH train that is always there!

@californiadreams: we drove 3+ hours, but LO was ECSTATIC, so it was worth it for us. The things we do....

@hellobeeboston: hmm, i might reconsider it then...i'll have to check if there are still tickets available

@hellobeeboston: haha yes the things we do for kids! We are going to be driving several hours as well but we really think he will love it.

We have been twice, and both times were a hit! Be prepared for crowds and arrive early if possible. Weekdays tend to be less busy than weekends. It doesn't matter if you sit closer to Thomas or further away. I liked sitting closer to Thomas so that we could get off and go straight to the line to take photos with him without too much of a wait.

i really wish i saw this thread a few weeks ago! I just checked and now can only get tickets for a friday and i have to work I did find it a bit pricey though, but maybe next year it will be worth it.
