Last night DH, DD & I toured a daycare/preschool for DD (she turned 3 last week) thinking that it might be time to get her into more of a structured/educational environment. We loved the program - they have a theme every week and teach around that theme, do science & art projects, and all the teachers are accredited by a national program. It's a bit more expensive than now but I think it might be worth it.
But I wondered if I'm being too uptight about where she should be developmentally. We switched daycares back in September (in home to in home) due to a move and it seems like our new one isn't as educational. I don't think they ever do things like days of the week or letters really. They have some cute arts & crafts but it seems like more that I'm paying someone to just watch her play and make sure she doesn't get hurt and feed her.
But, again, she's only 3. Does she really need more than that?

What's your daycare environment like, especially if you're in a home daycare?
