My daughter has fine hair and we use tiny elastics to make a little ponytail.

I think it'll be next to impossible for them to keep track of pretty hair bows. When I have the time and she lets me I just use tiny elastics. Half the time she pulls them out anyway. Especially at the younger toddler age she never let me put her hair up. She always looks a mess! LOL

My daughter has super fine thin hair and when it was finally long enough I cut bangs and it helps tremendously. Now it looks kinda cute even when her hair is down.

Little elastics. She would rip them out so we sent a bag with her and her teacher could fix it after nap. We also started giving her a treat when she leaves her ponys in all day. After a couple weeks she left them in and wouldn't ask for the treat.

@teawithpaloma: normal to me! Sometimes her hair clips would be in her lunch bag and other times they were gone - I started buying cheapie clips so if they got lost I didn't care.

@teawithpaloma: we cut bangs just before age 2 because of the hair problem. Hair ties and clippies wouldn't stay in her hair. When my husband picks her up, I make sure he knows what clip she had in her hair so he can make sure we go home with it. We just ask the teachers for it.

We do the cheap rubber elastics. I think they were $5 for 500 of them at Target. She can't pull them out.

I will say that she got better with keeping bows/clips in her hair around 23 months, so now we can send them and they stay in.

I think if it's impt to you, you should talk to the teacher. Our teachers are good about making sure accessories like that go home with the right kid. Though, this sometimes means if it falls off once, they just stick it in the kid's cubby. They have the tiny elastics at school and will tie up bangs/hair if it seems bothersome for the kids. My DD has fine hair too and I usually just use the elastics. She pulls the cute pins out on the drive to school so it's pointless, lol.

I use the cheap elastics too, but put a barrette in as well because her hair is all over the place. They've only lost one actually! She goes all day 2x a week.
