Our rates go up every Jan. They send out a note addressing the rates and spelling out the details in November.

Ours goes up in Jan and they send a notice with the new table a few weeks before it kicks in. I was not notified when the rate went down (when he turned 1 and the ratio changed) until I'd overpaid for two months and they credited my account.

We don't get a newsletter or anything though, so there's nowhere else to put the info.

When we do registration in September, that's when we'll find out about a price increase, but it doesn't happen every year, and the last time it did, it only went up by $10/month.

Ours have always notified us -- they generally just go up once/year during the renewal time. It usually includes some sort of explanation (e.g., new supplies, x% raise for staff, etc). It's always somewhat annoying, but I would be angry if I worked year after year without getting a raise or a new work computer or whatever, sooooo....

We get many months notice. What they usually do is hike the rates in the middle of the year for new students, but keep the rates the same for current students until several months later. I think they have finally settled into a schedule of hiking rates for current students every September (for awhile, it was a bit random).

They definitely need to give us notice though because the increases have been pretty substantial over the years. I think we will be paying at least 20% more for LO2's infant room tuition than we did for LO1 3 years ago.

Ours usually go up about $10 a week starting in July. We get notice in the monthly newsletter and a letter in our cubby.

We got a letter in our mailbox at the school about a month ago that the rates would be going up (something like $10) starting Aug 1st. And the rates change based on the classroom. But they've only hiked up once in the 2.5 years we've been there (they were recently incorporated into Bright Horizons).
