So...K has been in daycare fulltime she is was 4 mos old. I generally LOVE the facility - sure there are some teachers I like more than others but all-in-all its been very good. The director is extremely responsive to feedback and I always feel my concerns have been taken seriously.

I was referred by a co-worker (parent A) and I trust her opinion completely. She has also referred another woman from our work (parent B) who I do not know well but apparently she has always been anti-daycare and wishes she didnt have to have her kids in daycare at all. Generally negative about it. Parent B has had her child there for 1 year now.

Yesterday parent A stopped me as I was dropping off and told me that parent B believes she heard a child in the classroom above my DD (her sons classroom) spanked. It allegedly took place in the bathroom and parent B was outside with her son when she heard the spank. The teacher came out (with the little girl who may have gotten spanked) with a horrified look on her face and kept on her business. Parent B said something to the director and let her know that she would be removing her son immediately (instead of giving 15 days notice as required). The director says she looked into the situation but it appears nothing was done (the teacher is still there) and let parent B know she would waive the 15 day notice fee.

So - I feel I am not in a position to inquire because I am basically hearing it third person. Parent A was debating asking the director but worried she would not share anything with her because of privacy.

What would you ladies do? Ask the director? Ask a teacher I have trust in? DD will be in this room with this teacher in 6 mos - so I have some reason for concern.
