Wonderful! We decided against swim lessons and will be doing music on Mondays instead. Nap is at noon so we're free all morning!

Have any of you been to Meadow Lane Park? It's near downtown Vienna, VA. It's one of my favorite playgrounds to go to. It's nice to go to when the weather's nice b/c it's outdoors and they have play structures, sandbox, merry-go-round, swings (infant ones included), and TONS of toys (ride on cars, tricycles, trucks, kitchens, etc.) to play with. And it's gated. There are also picnic tables and restrooms.

@erwoo: that park sounds perfect!!! You had me at gated!

What do you all think? Is Vienna doable? It's right off the Nutley Street exit on 66 (near the Vienna metro).

meadow lane park is totally doable for me!

@erwoo: i drive by it all the time and have been excited for the opportunity to take LO there!

It's about 2 hours for me, but I'm going to do my best to make it!!!

    Works for me

@Mrs. Cowgirl: the only area that is not gated is the entrance but it is otherwise. Also, the entrance has a relatively long path so it won't be too hard to spot a kid leaving the playground. I'm excited to go bc it's been a while. My oldest loves it there!

@edelweiss: Hope you'll like it as much as we do! It's fully shaded in the Summer time so it's a nice place to go then too. Hard to find fully shaded playgrounds around here! Although, I doubt there will be much leaves at the end of April though. Hope it's not too chilly then.

Just catching up on this thread and want to say that Meadow Lane Park is doable for me too. Looking forward in meeting everyone.

Oh man, how did I miss this thread??

I'm probably out if it's Vienna on April 27 (I live in Hyattsville, so Vienna is kind of a trek, plus April 27 is actually Maryland Day at UMD College Park, which is actually an awesome outing for kids... less so for the under 2 crowd (though there's still plenty to catch their attention- we took LO last year when he was a year old) and I'm psyched about going again this year!)

But I'd love to do more stuff with y'all this summer- we could hit up the zoo, the Building Museum, or have a picnic on the Mall...

@Lozza: aww, bummer! we'll have to do a maryland area meet-up, too. how close are you to montgomery county? we went to wheaton regional park this past weekend and it was AMAZING!

Hey, friends! Just checking in to make sure that Saturday, April 27 at Meadow Lane Park still works for you! What time would be best for everyone? CB is no longer napping, so we are good at any time. I was thinking maybe around 10am? And if people want to pack a lunch, they can stick around for a little picnic?

    I can't wait to meet/see everyone!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: Unfortunately, I think we'll have to miss this time. I'll see how LO is doing closer to the date. We also live in PG County, so it's quite a hike too. I would love a MoCo or DC meetup one day!

I think I'm a tentative yes I've changed my status from TTC to currently pregnant! So I could learn a lot from you local moms But it's still so early - that's why I'm tentative. I just need to see that heartbeat to really feel like this is real. After 20 months of trying and 3 IUIs, I'm cautiously optimistic, but SOOO ready to join in on the fun

@sweetooth: oh my goodness!!! Congrats!! Hope to see you and congratulate you in person soon!

    nectarine / 2705 posts

@Mrs. Cowgirl: Thank you! I'll let you know for sure if I'll be there. I wouldn't want to get any crazy looks from the moms and dads, since I'll be the one person showing up without any kids on the playground.

I'm probably out for the 27th, but I'd love to do another meetup sometime- Wheaton Park works great for us, as does pretty much any location in the district.

@Weagle: If you want something closer on the 27th, check out Maryland Day at UMD College Park- we'll be there!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: Looking forward to meeting you all! 10 AM works for us too. Also, we probably won't stay for a picnic lunch either b/c we have to head back to have lunch with the family. Here we are. Not sure if I'm going to bring my youngest yet. But there he is at 9 months (he's 12 months now).

This nausea I'm battling is making my days a little unpredictable at the moment. I would love to meet you all - but I think I'll have to wait until I'm a little further along in this pregnancy. Have a great time this weekend!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: @erwoo: it was great to meet you and your LOs today! thanks so much for organizing mrs. cowgirl. also, you two made wegman's sound like such a good option that we ditched the bakeshop idea and went to wegman's instead and totally loaded up on cake and donuts! here's to a healthy dinner. hope your LOs had a good time and that we can get together again soon!

@Mrs. Cowgirl: @edelweiss: It was so great to meet both of you too! We'll have to do this again before we move. Wegmans is so awesome. I love that place! Nicholas likes to ride their "shopping cart car." I usually go there once a week mostly for their organic stuff b/c the Fairfax location has a good selection of organic veggies and all in one area. Your dinner sounds so yummy! I usually have to resist their donuts but can never walk out without getting two of them.

@erwoo: @edelweiss: so lovely meeting you both! We had so much fun and will definitely have to try to meet up again before September!

I went on a late night (ie 8:45 ) Wegmans run with my friend who is visiting. She loves that place and it's such a treat because she doesn't have any near her in NJ!
