my father-in-law has this camera, and he loves it. if you're looking for an entry-level dslr to snap pictures of your lo, this is a good option. it's not super powerful, but much nicer than the typical point-and-shoot. because it's entry level, it's very user-friendly. it also takes 1080p HD videos. plus, the flip down LCD is super nice for taking pictures and videos of kids!
