This post resonated strongly with me this morning, particularly about "this is our season" (not so much the serving/religious aspect of this post). I think so many of us get sucked into the "suck" of this age of young toddlers, newborns, adding more to the mix, or just feeling like we are drowning and barely keeping it together some days.

@blackbird: haha, glad I'm not the only one! I'm excited for baby #2, but definitely getting scared of all the MOTN wake-ups. I was just thinking this morning how exhausted I was and how hard it was to get up, and that was with 7+ hours of sleep!

@Adira: @blackbird: I felt nervous about baby #2 since mine were about 20 months apart and the newborn days seemed very fresh in my mind...but now that my 2nd is 5 months old, I read articles like these and just bawl my eyes out!

Loved this. I found the transition to motherhood hard on myself as a woman and as a friend and wife. I constantly (more in the beginning, since she is 2 now) remind myself that this is a season and I need to be IN it now.
There will be time to be a more available friend and energetic wife (oh, god, the sleep!) and go-getter employee. Now it is the work/daycare grind, sticky fingers on my clean shirt and crazy pride that she conquered the 'big kid' playground equipment -

Oh this is so perfect. I just sold my business because I couldn't handle it along with my own strong-willed 2 year old and my nursing baby. I struggle with what my purpose is. Thank you for sharing this today.
