@Kaohinani: I took a couple more tests, one yesterday afternoon and one just now with FMU and the test line is still very light. I know that one should expect the darkening after 48 hours but I’m still suspicious of how light the positive line is With DS at this point the line was much darker.. not sure if that means anything? Because I didn’t test this cycle I have no idea when I ovulated and I’m on CD 26 (my cycles have ranged from 30 to 32 days).

@Mrs. K: IDK either. Were if me, I would test again tomorrow (keeping in mind the 48-72 hour doubling rate for HCG). Also, each pregnancy is different. You may have implanted later with one than another. Pregnancies also differ in their HCG doubling rates. Stay cautious but remain hopeful. 🤞

I’m sick We DTD Thursday and Friday nights and this is my LH test from this morning. Is it positive? Should we just go for it tonight? I’m feeling a lot better than yesterday- but still not great.

@youboots: If you are up for it, go for it!
FWIW, those look really positive so if you hit tonight and tomorrow (OV-1, OV) along with the fact you covered Thursday and Friday, I'd say you are doing well.

Started spotting red today, so pretty sure my initial gut feeling that this wasn't going to be a viable pregnancy was spot on.
While I'm not like, thrilled that it's looking like a miscarriage, I am not upset either. I already had a feeling it wasn't a thing. AND it's amazing (like AMAZING) that we were able to get pregnant so quickly!
There's still a possibility that it's an ectopic, but no pain thus far so I'm hopeful that that's not the case.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@smuckers: Oh, no! Are you still going to your OBGYN or PCM for a set of betas to determine if (a) it is viable, (b) a chemical, or (c) ectopic? Please, keep us updated.
apricot / 390 posts
@Kaohinani: Yup, I have a call in already from this morning, and will probably need to call back later advising that I've started spotting. I'm not too worried about it; nothing is likely to change that's within anyone's control.
The ONLY case where time would be of the essence would be ectopic, but the only reason that's even a question is because of the bleeding earlier this month. There's not been any other signs or symptoms of an ectopic (though I am keeping a close eye on it, and have told a few people at work JUST IN CASE).

@smuckers: I applaud your positivity and realistic stance. You are handling it much better than I [handled my CP in late August after years of BFNs].
apricot / 390 posts
@Kaohinani: Give yourself some grace, please. Reacting to miscarrying a surprise pregnancy 2 days after finding out is NOT the same as reacting to a chemical for a very planned, long-awaited BFP. I've been there, to some extent, with my first. I know exactly how devastating it can be.

@smuckers: Thank you. That means a lot. (I do find I am exceptionally hard on myself at times.)

@smuckers: so sorry to read this and for your sake definitely hoping for no ectopic 🤞

@yellowbeach: appreciate the thoughts :). I honestly doubt it's ectopic, but I don't have much experience on what that would be like so what do I know?
Just waiting for them to confirm what they want me to do (BT? Appointment? Ultrasound?). Thinking they'll probably only stick with a BT or two this week.

Has anyone (who was absolutely certain of their dpo through OPKs, BBT, and CP) gotten weird copious amounts of watery CM for days and days (and days and days and days ) after OV? I'm 4 dpo and I'm still wet. This is not normal for me as I have Sjogren’s syndrome (an autoimmune disease) which causes dryness of many mucous membranes. I was blaming my CM on using Macrodantin but, after much research, I can only find one incidence of such. I am so confused. My OPKs are negative so I'm not surging. 🤔 (@Sams Mom, if you say "baby," there is no way! Not this early!
🤣
) I'm just looking for someone with something similar who can say that this is relatively normal because in nearly 39 years, this is new and I'm afraid it is significant to menopause.
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Kaohinani: I think it was last cycle I had all the extra watery CM mid TWW. The only difference for me was the prometrium... 🤷♀️
BABY!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: You are lucky I like you so much ... it can't be a baby at 4 dpo. However, you DID get my brain a-ticking. Maybe my progesterone is super high this cycle? IDK? 🤔 My temps are not all that remarkable though.

@Kaohinani: in other news, I'm CD7 and started crying over an old Adele song 🤷♀️
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: Do you think @Yellowbeach may know? She is awesome diagnosing random "stuffs" ... Now that you mentioned you had it with the added progesterone, she'd be able to verify with a Yay or Nay. (I'm only good with the research crud. )
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: I think everyone cries over old Adele songs... It isn't just you, hun. 🤣
But seriously, are you REALLY emotional lately? 🤔
What day do you usually OV?
grapefruit / 4492 posts
@Kaohinani: all sorts of emotional, but medicated and not medicated I'm in the CD 13-15 ovulation range
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Sams Mom: Perhaps your body is "purging." Mine did that with the Clomid (except with the weight I put on with it, oddly enough. 🤔). I was all sorts of emotional the cycle AFTER my last medicated and DH was like "WTH, aren't you supposed to be emotional ON the meds?!?!" It is a process to get the extra hormones OUT of your system.

@Kaohinani: I don’t know except guess it’s hornonal, but wouldn’t it be the opposite of related to menopause? Most women dry out as they head towards menopause, no?
kiwi / 624 posts
@Mrs. K: your test looked pretty dark to me for a faint bfp and had the appropriate colour. Hopefully the next few days will make it more clear what is up.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Petitduck: You are absolutely correct, most women do dry up right before menopause but during perimenopause, it is a crap-shoot. Which scares me. My Memere didn't hit the big M until 50 but my Nana hit it at 41. With Sjogren’s syndrome, I'm always afraid I won't be able to differentiate which symptoms are from Sjogren's and which are peri/menopausal. Incidentally, my Nana had no symptoms until she just didn't get her AF at all.

@Petitduck: they ordered a beta test for me, which I will go in and have done tomorrow morning before work. I’ll let everyone know when it comes back.

@Paranundrum: Did FF verify OV? Are we, indeed, "cycle buddies" this month?
clementine / 811 posts
@Kaohinani: It did and we almost are! I'm 4 dpo today and my poas date is 28.12, but I'll probably know it's a no-go before that. Hopefully not though. I'll attach my chart.
But we're going to get a tree tonight! I love having a tree.
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@paranundrum: 5 dpo here with a POAS date of the 29th. (* chart affixed)
That is so exciting that you will be getting your tree! It feels as though we have had ours up forever as my DH and DD bully me into decorating as soon as our Thanksgiving is over! They LOVE the Christmas holiday season!
apricot / 308 posts
@smuckers: I’m so sorry for your loss and hope everything goes well with your test today
@kaohinani: perfect POAS date, right in time to ring in the new year! As for your question about copious amounts of CM after ovulation, the only time I have ever had that was after I confirmed pregnancy with DS.
So I’ve been testing each morning since Sunday and this morning’s line looks better but my concern is that the line doesn’t “pop up” as soon as the pee absorbs up the stick. It seems to take awhile (the three minute period they ask you to wait to allow it to show up) to develop... do you guys think that means anything at all? Is that a bad sign? With DS the line popped up right away so that’s why I’m a little worried. Here’s a picture of the tests from the last three mornings, Sunday is on the top:

@Mrs. K: appreciate the good wishes! Honestly the spotting has stopped and was barely anything so I probably overreacted. Still in possession of Schrodingers uterus until tests show otherwise, though.
At this point I’m most freaked out about a possible ectopic. I was stupid and googled “positive pregnancy test 2 weeks after period” and like 90% if the results were women with ectopic pregnancies. That doesn’t mean I have one, of course, but I am worried (though I still have no pain or discomfort).
At this point I’m just hoping for answers by Christmas.
clementine / 811 posts
@Kaohinani: We usually bring it in even later, we have a real tree and don't want all the needles to drop before Christmas eve, but I can't wait any longer. We'll get a Caucasian fir, it'll last longer. Norway spruce is the more traditional choice around here as it grows here and I'd love to have that one, because it smells like Christmas! Unfortunately it gets really sad really quickly indoors.
nectarine / 2648 posts
@Mrs. K: That progression is perfect! You's preggo girl!
@kaohinani: All I'm hearing from you are good signs! And look at that perfect implantation dip. Can't say for sure about the heavy CM, but I'm voting that it's a good sign!
@Smuckers: While the waiting sucks, no pain is definitely good news if ectopic is your biggest concern (which I get, it would be mine, too)... but don't let Google sway you. There's a selection bias of who tells stories of their early 1st trimester bleeding. People who have spotting and are just fine don't have much of a story to tell.
apricot / 390 posts
@yellowbeach: Real talk, I was REALLY hoping you'd reply, lol. If it had just been spotting, I'd probably be less concerned. Since it was legitimately a heavy bleed, I think I'm just getting into my head a bit. BUT you are totally right, I'm only seeing people on one end of the spectrum on Google.
kiwi / 624 posts
@Mrs. K: those look great and I wouldn’t read into them not popping up instantly. Your hcg will be different in every pregnancy and as long as it was within the test time windo it doesn’t matter. And there isn’t a question of whether there is a line or not!
grapefruit / 4144 posts
@Mrs. K: Your HPTs look fantastic! You are showing progression which is awesome.
Most women don't receive "magic lines" which appear as soon as they POAS, rather the lines take until the approved development period to properly show and then look amazing when dried.
@Smuckers: I'm still hopeful that you have a successful, sticky BFP there. 🤞 Spotting and bleeds in early pregnancy are fairly commonplace. Going down the Google rabbit hole is dangerous. I am on pins and needles waiting for your beta.
@Paranundrum: We used to get real trees but had to purchase a fake one due to DD's allergies. I miss the lovely "woodsy" smell that would fill my livingroom.
@Yellowbeach: Thank you. I'm hoping for something good (as always), but if not ... well, I always have next month, right? 🤷♀️
apricot / 390 posts
@Kaohinani: ME TOO. I *think* that I'd be about 6 weeks (if I go by November bleeding vs. December), so if all is well they would need to be above 1000. Here's hoping the Dr calls me back ASAP!
nectarine / 2648 posts
@smuckers: Lol- yes, we have a saying in emergency medicine that abdominal pain and/or syncope (fainting) in a woman of child-bearing age is ectopic until proven otherwise. But we really don't go looking for ectopic (in an emergent setting) if there's not pain or fainting. Bleeding alone gets an eval for spontaneous miscarriage, usually with a beta and a TVUS, which also helps us look for ectopic. But I don't demand my friends go in emergently for just bleeding. Hope that helps?
