I've been trying to decide which throw pillows to get for our couch but am stumped on color, size, and style. Essentially, I have no clue what to do. The photo doesn't show the color very well but the couch is a very very light gray. Design-savvy bees, please help!

@betsyboop: the couch and rug are neutral, so what are your favorite colors? Style it the way you like to dress if that makes sense.

@Mrs. Lemon-Lime: I think the issue I've been having is that the pillows seem like such a commitment as silly as that sounds. Plus I normally dress in black, grey, or white. So boring, I'm a color-phobe!

I think yellow and grey are great, maybe a splash crisp white too (like a textured pillow--ruffles, buttons, etc.)

A monochramatic scheme of taupes and grays could look nice. Using texture and pattern to add interest. Buy a few things. Live with them for aw week or two. Return what you don't love.

With grey you can do literally any color! I'd go shopping and just see what pillows you love. The trick is to then pull those color(s) as an accent through the rest of the room. I try to put an accent color in 3 different places in a room. So get your pillows, then maybe get a decorative vase or candle in the same color for a shelf, then get a wall print or some flowers or something similar for another area of the room.

I'm having similar issues too with a light grey sectional. I was thinking textured/patterned yellow and white (but I have two boys so may nix the all white). I do love your couch and the huge windows too!

I agree with @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: 's picture and that you can always return them! it's probably the easiest thing to commit (or not) to - lightweight and super easy to carry back to the store
I know bed bath and beyond, and I think target?, have those throw pillows with changeable covers. you could always grab a few and see what you like best together at home!

I love the neutrals like the picture @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: posted. (I love when you post about decor! I think we have a very similar style) So classy, but comfortable. Gray and yellow is more trendy if you want to go that way.

@betsyboop: oh it was easy! Just searched "yellow trellis pillow" in google images. "trellis" is that type of geometric pattern that's popular right now.

@delight: Funny you mention trellis because a few months ago I bought a trellis rug and told my husband it was called trellis. He thought I made up the word. Then this morning he said "I think we should get trellis pillows for the couch." ha
