Okay, this might be taking it too far into the gory details of TTC, but what do you consider "spotting?" Is it bleeding, but less of it? Is it tinted CM? How do you define spotting?

I define spotting as seeing blood when I wipe but not much (if at all) on a liner.

I think I agree with @swedishfish. Primarily what you'd see when wiping, but not much if any making it past that.

I agree with @Torchwood and @swedishfish. I would also add if there is some brown tinged CM, but not blood anywhere.

@swedishfish @Torchwood @Crystal: So helpful, y'all. Thank you! I had a missed miscarriage in October, and it's looking like my first post-loss AF arrived today! For once I'm celebrating AF's arrival - it means a new start in a new year!

Spotting, imo, is when you have some bleeding but not enough to warrant a tampon.

@pui: Thank you for your response! Good to know that I'm not alone in my various interpretations of the term.
(PS: Congrats again!!!)

I count "spotting" as any kind of blood (so even light brown CM), up to needing anything more than a pantyliner.
