I dream about putting up black and white swiss cross curtains in the new baby's nursery.
Of course, I can't find the curtains anywhere. I found the PERFECT fabric on etsy, but it is $45 a yard!!! I want 50x84 inch panels, so that would be insanely expensive.
Has anyone seen curtains like this? Or fabric around $15 a yard? Does anyone know anything about getting fabric made?

I haven't seen curtains like this, but have you tried http://www.spoonflower.com? You can design your own fabric and it's definitely less expensive than $45/yard. Probably more than $15 though

@mrsbookworm: I made the same size panels for DD's nursery and I can't remember how many yards I bought! Do you sew?

Standard width is 52" I think, so if you have a really thin hem at the sides, you can get away with just buying 2 1/2 yards for each panel. It depends what you're planning on doing for the top of the panel (rod pocket, grommets, clips..) I only sew a little, so someone else might be more knowledgeable. I have made curtains before, but it's been a while.

You should be able to recreate that, but I would look at some other websites first. Try Fabric.com, fabricworm.com, or maybe google it.

I couldn't find anything (other than spoonflower at $17/yd). But, if you want to spend a lot of time on it, you could do something like this:

If I were you, I'd probably buy pre-made white curtains and use a freezer paper stencil and fabric paint to make it
