My husband's birthday is on Thursday while I'm stuck in the hospital. My mom is going to bake his favorite cake and we'll have a little celebration here, but I still want to do/get something for him (from my bed - or I can have my little elves go out and get something). He's always hard to get stuff for but this is even harder!
Basics: He usually gets everything he wants for himself. He's in his 40s.
Any ideas?

Can you have something delivered to his office? Does he like Hickory Farms meats/cheeses/spreads?

Is he a sports fan? Does he like cooking/grilling? I just bought my DH a Weber grilling set, and I know they make ones that you can get with your favorite team logo on it!

Something to make the time he will be spending in the hospital with you better? Maybe a set of DVDs of a show you all can watch together? Or a board game you all could play?

@Mrs Green Grass: When he travels does he do so by plane? If so, maybe some nice noise-canceling headphones? My DH has some and never travels without them.

I say order some great food and have an elf bring it to the hospital and set it up all nice. Then maybe have dinner and a movie there?
