Making a list of last minute things we might need...diaper pails...worth it or not?

We didn't have one at first. We use a wetbag that attaches to our changing table with a velcro strap. At 6 months I only use it half the time since we have a single level house so I'm usually walking by the big garbage can soon anyway.

Initially, not super necessary especially if you BF ... it doesn't smell all that bad. But solids are a whole new ballgame and I am very glad for ours now

We just throw diapers in the trash. At 15 months Lo's diapers aren't super stinky.

For us, not necessary. We have a small trash can in LOs nursery. We just throw wet diapers in there or the kitchen trash can. If it's a dirty diaper, we'll put it in a grocery bag or diaper disposal bag before sticking it in the trash.

@chopsuey119: Really? We have some doozies at 13 months! But our kid also eats like a horse.

Not so far, we just throw diapers in our kitchen garbage, which goes out every day or so anyhow.

SSooooooo necessary.
We both thought diaper pails were just "fluff." We have a small house and a small nursery and didn't want too much stuff. Well,, we ended up getting one as a gift and we are so glad we have one. Don't know what I would do without it!

sounds like i'll add one just for fun...if I get it great...if not, i can go back and get later! any particular one that is recommended?

Eh I don't think one is really necessary unless you cloth diaper.
If you DO get one I recommend Dekor. The Diaper Genie sucks.

Diaper stink, at all ages. You should be flushing poop in the toilet anyway even if you use disposables, otherwise the poop can contaminate the water supply over time.

We have the Munchkin arm and hammer one. No prob with odors.

I never wanted one but my husband did so we added one. It was purchased for us and it's soooo awesome!!!!

We have one and LOVE it. It really is 50/50

We have a dog, so its necessary to have the enclosed container to keep him from eating all the poo. He does love my lo's poo.
