9 months and a few days pp and it's still there!!! What is up with that???? Is it going to be there forever? Maybe until I stop bf'ing? Is it hormonal? AF has already returned so I thought maybe it'd go away, no such luck.

Me! 11 months PP, still BFing, and while much faded, it's still there. Hoping it's gone by swimsuit season!

Mine didn't go away in the 3 months between pregnancies and now it's even darker.

15 months pp and still there but faded. I don't know if anyone else would notice but I do.

15 months pp and mine is still there too. I've heard exfoliating it helps it to fade but I never tried it.

Still there at 12 months pp, although it is faded.
My ob said it would take a year to disappear. I'm still waiting!

Exfoliating really worked for me. Otherwise I think it would have hung around a lot longer.

Mine was also still there when I got pregnant with #2 about 13 months pp. it's faded since then and is not really visible at 25 wks!

With my first I think it went away around 6 months. With my second a little longer. I think I could still see a teeny tiny bit around 12 months.

@NurseMommy: Sorry for the threadjack - but are you very fair skinned? I never got one either and nobody believed me until I showed them since people seem to think *everybody* gets it. I just chalked it up to very little pigment in my skin in the first place!

@Sapphiresun: I'm fairly average caucasian. Not as pasty as my DH, but not olive skinned either.

My first linea negra stuck around til DD was over 2 yo! And that was waaay after weaning. It finally started to fade, but then I got pg again, so it never totally left. With my 2nd, it started to fade sooner... closer to around 12-18 months pp (still not soon enough, but sooner), and I was still BFing. So I'm not sure BFing is a factor.
I'm pg again (currently in the 2nd tri) and I can barely notice it! I guess it's different for each pregnancy, but in my experience, it's gotten lighter and less prominent with each child.
